Sounds like he's just fitted in a treat, I'm so pleased for you Kirsty. As gorgeous as this new boy on the block appears, I'm afraid Flame is still my favourite! Hope you have lots of fun things to do together, and I hope you achieve all you want to with this gorgeous new lad. How exciting!
Thanks all. Glad you all approve and like him - he is a cracker H - Flame is very pleased to hear that she is still the fave in your house Ben was very sweet last night and said he liked Zak, but Yogi was his favourite LOL! (Flame is too old and smelly he says to be his favourite - awww poor Flameybobs!).
Yay for you! He's such a stunner isn't he?! Glad to hear he's already settling in well. Look forward to hearing about his antics and adventures! Love the name too, suits him xx
Thanks Kazz - just seen this. It is all going well so far. Zak was very confident on home turf from day one, and got on well with the other dogs (both indoor dogs and the working sheepdogs) and was brilliant with the children (esp as he has never lived with any). He lived in my outdoor kennel/run for the first few days but then I decided to risk him inside and he has been clean from day one. His biggest crime is constantly stealing toilet rolls We all him "Andrex" LOL. However, I did have a few worries with him when away from home initially as he seemed a bit spooky in new situations. However, we are working on this and all is going really well. He has met up with some of my friends and their dog-friendly dogs and his confidence seems to have turned a corner and he is now coming on leaps and bounds. He really is a joy to be around. I am building his focus on a ball and his bite roll and his recall is getting much better. I think he has taken a little while to bond with me and having only been in one previous home since birth to coming here will have been a bit of a shock to his system. However, we are firm friends now and our relationship is blossoming I am meeting up with two different lots of friends later this week for more socialising at the beach, and I am really looking forward to it. Poor Yogi has hurt his knee and the vet has put him on a fortnight's rest and metacam, so at least it is giving me the chance to get Zak out alone for plenty of one on one time and socialising without his over-enthusiastic big brother there to protect him ;-)
Sorry. Thats the picture i meant though! He just looked so trusting, and ready for anything. It really shows his intelligence, trust and courage! And wern't we all proved right. Brilliant
No worries I remember being blown away by just how friendly he was. It wasn't long at all before it felt as though he had been here forever
