Wow, you've certainly had a variety of dogs! Only had JRs myself and, like you, am now totally hooked! Seems like your family are mad on RTs a bit like mine. My dad's got a JR and I got my love of them from him. I LOVE patts, what fiesty little terriers they are and so gorg too! I would defo have one but must say, I'd probably, well I know, I'd have another jack! So you've got baby ratters (great name for em!) on the way, how exciting!!! When are they due? Are you sure you'll be able to get rid of them all! I bet your daughter is sooo looking forward to them! Ohhh, you must send some pics when they arrive AND updates and more pics of them all. Aren't they just the cutest pups! Your daughter dressing Ein up reminds me of me and my first JR, Robby, who I managed (don't know how, he was a big un and very stocky) to put in my pram as a kiddie and pushed him around the village in it. As you know, RTs love their comfort so he refused to get out! Ahhh, aren't they just great!!! ;-)

Thats the whole point, dogs should NOT be bred to supply the pet market. They should be bred for correct health, temperament and breed characteristics, NOT profit!

Hi Dawn, I totally agree. However, this was how the now known Jack Russell Terrier came about as it was actually the 'great'(!) Parson's sister who bred the shorter legged RT all those years ago and this would have been purely for working reasons not for cosmestic as they do nowadays. Anyway, hope your Borders are well. I've got fond memories of my friend's BT from many years ago. He was a superb dog and he followed us everywhere along with my first JR!!

Ace! Wish I could take Lily work with me although I'm sure she'd create havoc in the office ;-) What do you do so that they're able to go work with you?

That's amazing, to work with dogs all day! Jammy you! I can imagine it's hard work though. Do you get attached to some dogs and you don't want them to go home??!! :smt052

Very fond of some of them, but they are all loved and have caring homes, so no need to worry on my part.

I bet you get great job satisifaction when folks come home and see that their little pets have been very well looked after. One thing I didn't realise until my cousin told me is that not all dog kennels actually walk the dogs  I just assumed they did. :smt102

JackRussellsRule, not a case of getting rid, as they were booked before they were concieved. We thought she'd missed, as she's hidden it quite well, but she's due next week.. People who have met her have fallen for her straight away, and we were begged for pups from the moment we got her.. (she's not the best looker Parsons wise, as her upper jaw was broken, making it shorter than it should be, but she has a turned up little nose, and it makes her look like a snob terrier, she acts like it too)
My OH (non doggy) said they other day "when they are ready to go, it'll be Katie's birthday, so we are keeping 1, right?" LOL, he didn't want her, now he's getting clucky....yay, so we are keeping 1..maybe two..LOL

Hi Honesty, sorry I wrote that wrong, I didn't mean you wouldn't be able to get rid of them but meant would you be able to let them GO and that you would want to keep them all. Ohhh, so you're keeping one, ace and maybe two, excellent!

I know...YAY.. she's just getting fatter and fatter, and bagging up more, but no sign of pups yet, it's driving me mad.

Oh, it's getting so close now, I bet you're all so excited! Can't wait to hear your good news and how many ratters little Ein has, oh, and loads of pics too!!

I'd consider having one myself if they hadn't all gone; now that WOULD confuse people ;-)

    Keep us posted.

I have owned JRTs for 15 years and chose the breed for its feisty attitude and loyalty to its owners..they hold their own in the dog world and have massive personalities and character..i must admit that seeing the recent adverts for the minatures made me avoid them like the plague when i was looking for a new pup over the past week.

My original JRT was a Parsons with an excellent stance and a mixture of terrier attitude and total commitment to being a loving companion.

My second JRT was of short but compact build and the attitude and strength of a rottweiler. He displayed the true "working stock" of his bloodline.

My third JRT is a rough coat and a big softy but this masks his terrier attitude which is evident when out in the country, he is a true hunter and gives total commitment to scent trails.

The new addition to the family is only 8weeks old but stands his ground with my two year old and shows the fantastic traits of his JRT breed. I wait with anticipation to witness the working bloodline that he has and will be encouraged to show.

A JRT is a breed of its own..they might have variations but the basic elements should not be forced into a ball of fur to stick in your pocket or fit into a tea cup!

Sleep well Skip and Bud...Thank you for all the memories...x

Oh, Pure, I've just read your profile. You've only just lost your wonderful friend Bud then  that really is so, so, so sad. It's really hard and I hope that your new pup helps you along at this very, very, VERY hard time. :smt010 as Nougat will too.

Is your new pup a bitch or a dog? Telll me more! Have you got any pics? Aren't JRTs just the CUTEST puppies in the whole WORLD!! Oh, I'm so envious, thinking of you walking around with a little JR attached to your feet and with all those little bite marks on your hands and feet too!!! Sorry, I'm getting broody again ;-)

You've certainly had such brilliant JRs (or should I say RTs because of Skip). My first, Robby, was a big un, I had him from the age of 3. SO full of character and as intelligent as they come. Cheeky little scamp and the stories I could tell you, he was a cracker :smt047 ! My second, Rosa, was BIG in spirit even though she was very petite. She has been known to go for the throats of the biggest dogs, yes, including Rotties and Alsations :smt062 but was so loving and was my little shadow and beautiful looking in her own special way. She was my little soul mate :smt008 . My beautiful Lily, is sooo bright and friendly, gutsy (but aren't all JRTs!) and OH SO SO SO cute!!! She really is a pretty little thing. Not so pretty when she caught a mouse in the garden though

I LOVE Jacks and find that the people who own them, are just as full of character and passion as they are!! WOW, I could talk about them all night!!!

Again, I'm so, so sorry to hear about your Bud. I hope you're coping well, LOADS of luck with your new pup, can't wait to hear more! And special kisses to Skip, Bud, Robby and Rosa who all meant so much to us :smt049 :smt049

well, pups are on the way...LOL, and Ein's pups will be workers like their mum (not lazy house pets like their dad)

JRs rule, yeah, didn't confuse me, if we have more than 6 there is one spare..LOL, Yours if you want it.. :D
