The KC register them! So the whole of the KC think they are allowed too, also one of the CEO of the KC likes them Becky
But...but... pink always means girly and ribbons and bows does`nt it It does`nt matter now, Orey seems to have removed it himself Wonder how he would look as a Parti Border *ouch* Thats my ear drums set to ring for a week just for thinking it out loud then
I almost forgot what the original topic was about, its all gone poodled lol! I do think your parti poodle is gorgeous though Becky regardless of what is or isn't allowed. Anyway my tuppence worth is that there should be a recognised club/society/whatever that is a self regulating group if KC recognition is ever to be attained for the NI. I don't tend to get involved in the politics, I'm not the most forthcoming person in the world tbh, but I do quietly and avidly watch from the sidelines and form my own opinions from what I learn. From what I have gleaned about the NI breed, I think personally that a breed standard re-wording is overdue and I look forward to that. As to the breakaway groups, well we now have the Utonagan which has become a different dog to the NI, and I don't have a problem with that. They saw the NI as a good foundation dog to build a different breed on in my opinion, and Utes are a different breed from the NI now. They are gorgeous dogs but they are different from the NI and good luck to them and I hope they continue to build their breed. Back to the NI, I have had contact with the 'other' group and no disrespect to the members personally, but I do think that the Northern Inuit Society is and should be the foremost recognised representative body for the breed. I have personally never come across any nastiness or bitchiness from the NIS, in fact the opposite. I have been made very welcome as a newcomer to NI dogs and have only come across people that are very passionate about their breed, as most of us are regardless of what breed we all own. Julie Kelham I have met, and found her to be a lovely woman who again, is incredibly passionate about NI's, and rightly so, and wants whats best for them and can understandably get a little 'heated' about it sometimes. Again something most of us are guilty of who want whats best for our breed. Well, I realise this is an EXTREMELY long post, but I think that ideal as it is that we should 'all just get along' there will always be heated discussions in any breed, and most certainly a breed that is still very young. Sorry for the long post, I don't post often but boy do I make up for it when I do!
Many of us are aware of the countless threads and the questions that go unanswered, we have seen people pretending to be more than one person not just from one group but from the various factions. You make accusations about one group, no doubt they have things to say about your group. The rest of us have watched the switching of allegiances and accusations over a number of years and it is difficult to know just who to believe. Personally I don't know why you have to come on here and mention other groups at all, if you wish to reply to posts there is nothing to stop you doing so and stating what you know to be true without dragging other people into it, this tactic can look like a smoke screen to avoid answering tricky questions. The best you can do to promote your breed is to stop bickering in public, forget what anyone else is doing and try to answer questions truthfully without evasion.
one thing the northern inuit society is working on is a booklet on the breed,in it is some photos of some of the original northern inuit dogs,as for hip scores the original northern inuits where not scored, but going back fifteen years or so,when we asked to have some scored the bva hip scoring scheem would not entertain us with out a kc registration.[/quote] When will the booklet be out, Julie? It would be fascinating reading, historically speaking. Will it be available to anyone or just NI members?
This post could so easily have been about the rotty breed, we have the same sh** going on daily,,,, Welcome to the dog world,,,lol, tis a nightmare, I think its quite common in many breeds, some being worse than others, look on the bright side thoguh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,at least your breed has not been branded,,,A DEVIL DOG, keep on going, im sure you will get there with the kc reg and so on, good luck x shona x
Becky, the KC register ANY colour of any breed. Did you know my friend bred a litter of "wheaten" Dobermanns! Yes, thats what colour they come back as! White Boxers are registered and they are not an allowed colour, we KNOW you can register one, that proves nothing. Patch. Thank you for removing Oreys bow, he feels much better now
Thankyou Animal and Shona. Mini, I agree with a lot of what you say, but sometimes it is impossible to come on here and 'state' what we know to be true, because once again, someone will pop up and call us liars so we are in a no win situation. I know this happens in so many breeds and that the 'dog world' can be a hotbed of lies and accusations. I truly believe we are getting things right now, we have a really dedicated and hard working committee as well as people working hard behind the scenes to get this breed KC recognition. Its not going to happen tomorrow, we have no delusions on that score, but in the meantime, we have our shows and events, that everyone is welcome too, and I personally think the NIS is the best way to go and so do ex members, it would seem, as they are coming back to us. back to the Great Poodle Debate, Becky your girl was totally gorgeous, you must miss her so much xx
I do every day, sorry for hijacking the thread lol! I was just trying to make the point that it happens in all breeds! Becky
