I first met one back in 2001 and I fell for him bigtime! He was such a big softy and so sweet, lovely with my little boy who was only a year old at the time, and I spent ages talking to his owner while my GSD bitch mouthed off at his dog lol

I grew up with GSD [and I'll always have at least one], but have hankered after a Husky since I was really young. It was the not letting offlead that put me off them, and also their unpredictability with cats - when I heard there have been cases where Huskies have gone for cats they've lived with all their lives I resigned myself to the fact I'd never have one, as I'll always have kitties too.

So! when I got home after meeting this lovely big boy I did some research on the NI and have to admit they sounded spot on for me. Couldn't consider one at the time, as I was renting and it would've been too much work with my GSD bitch but when I moved into my own house I decided to start looking. Now I have my gorgeous boy, and I've never looked back either, he's wonderful :)

We got an NI because we wanted a friendly non aggressive dog as we had had aggression problems towards other dogs with our GSD. They are certainly very friendly dogs and don't bark much. Ours is quite excitable and headstrong but he is in the teenage phase so I think he will calm down with age.

I always had a love for gsd's but certain health issues put me off having one. I also loved sibes and mals but the recall was a major issue for me. When i read about northern inuits they sounded perfect I got my first bitch karma 4 1/2 years ago and mani will be 2 in october. I could never even consider another breed the way i feel about these dogs they fit in to my family perfectly.

We've got 2 Utonagans. We lost our GSD to hip displacia when he was 13. After a year of being dogless, I could stand it no more. My OH wanted another GSD but to be honest Jake's hip problems put me off the breed big time. I know HD is in many breeds, but our boy did suffer terribly. I had always wanted a Mal or Husky. Again looking into each breed there were certain things that were not right for us. Stumbling across the Ute we thought they were stunning. All 3 breeds rolled into 1! We travelled to meet 3 breeders. Yes LS we met the gentle giant of north wales too! We picked a Sulin dog. Known as widget by her breeder 'cause she was so small. We named her Anoushka.

We then went back for her half brother Tokota.

Tokota is the brother to Cariad and Maelona - The Norties.
These dogs are everything I expected and more. Jake our GSD was a hard act to follow, he cannot be replaced but our 2 make life without him easier. Now we have wonderful dogs and a whole new family of friends, what more could we ask.
