Turns out I had the time wrong for the party. I checked with my sister and it's earlier than I thought, so I won't be able to go to the show as I commited to the party in April.
Sorry that I won't be able to go on the train with you. Hope you have fun and takes lots of pictures please - best of luck Bella in the ring - knock em over!

Yeah, give it a go! I know, I have nothing on for weeks, but suddenly everything on the same day.
Hope she wins lots of rosettes!

I've just asked my little sister if she wanted to go with me.. her reply: "We don't have a greyhound though" I think we'll be able to get there.. I'm coming dogless though - I think, haven't checked how many buses or how long we'll be on them and Louie is only good on a bus up to an hour - we'll see though..

Me, the other half and our Meg are going to go :) He's just concerned that if you're not showing your dog/bitch that you can't bring them. I told him that was a load of rubbish and if they won't let us in with her, she can bat her beautiful eyes at them and they'd have to let us in

Considering popping along - but Nancy's not really show-able, don't know about bringing her just for the experience of being able to bonk every greyhound in the East Midlands she hasn't already bonked with her out of control tail or not... and that's before the undercover greyhound comes into the equation (he behaves more houndishly than she does)!

So bump - I've decided we're going (hubby doesn't get a say in it) - assuming it's ok for non-showing dogs to attend... what's it like in terms of friendliness toward non-hound-type dogs? (Although Layton could pass very easily for a hound - he's got the roach down to a fine art)

    Were definately going
Dizzi, I've never bothered with the showing there, its not really my thing and the classes can be large so takes longer. Apart from spectating the showing, there was a greyhound agility display the other year, plenty of stalls to look round (and spend all your pennies) and its just great to be in the company of so many greyhounds & like-minded owners. There is a companion dog show on for other breeds, so Leyton will be fine and a waggiest tail class for Nancy ;-)

Greyhound agility? So that's who can jump on the sofa the first isn't it?

I'll be honest - I'm going for the collar buying opportunities! Nancy's AK creations one's got grubby as heck already (never buy a predominantly white collar for a dog) and I want at LEAST one new one for her repertoire! Oh... and a new tag collar cos the fluff on her old velvet one's driving me mad... and I feel a change of colour scheme from the red and black she's currently got... but that would mean a new lead... god help me if I ever have a child to shop for!

The shopping opportunities are way too tempting , my friend will be there with her collar & accessories stall (Dog 'O' Nine Tails) too so will be even harder for me to resist.

Going to have to be the afternoon I mooch along since I forgot I'm tutoring tomorrow - lack of planning there, and yep I'm definitely going on a collar mission!

Any rumours I came home with three martingales, two tag collars, matching tassles and doggy treats are a vicious lie!
