Its strange the way they have identified the virus but know so little about it and how to combat it. Its all about money/funding I guess...
Warm now. Over 70° every day for like the last week and the coming week. Think the cold is gone for good now. My fish are dancing and spawning and everyone is happy
Would you believe it? When I opened the front door yesterday morning it was SNOWING! Snow in the middle of April, ridiculous! A really horrible day as there was a bitterly cold gale force wind as well which made walking outside difficult to stay upright Unfortunately, I'd made an appointment to go to the hairdresser, but couldn't find anywhere near to park and had to battle my way across the road which was pretty scary and of course virtually ruined my "coiffure" when I came out. This morning the weather is completely different. The sky is blue and the sun is shining, and although it's only slightly warmer than yesterday at least the wind has dropped making it easier to walk without being blown over!
Eeek - snowing towards the end of April? March 1947 in England there was knee-high snow. March 1948 was like summer. I remember those because of birthday parties. Now? Here? H-O-T and summer has not even really started.
Glad to hear that you are back on your feet again Barbara. I hope you are feeling much stronger now. Take care with those cold winds.
At coming up to 8pm I have finally given in and put the air-con on as even though it is dark outside it has just gotten hotter and hotter.
After a glorious Sunday, we had a dull showery Monday, then it started to snow around midnight! Only about half an inch of cover, but it stayed put until nearly 8am. Bright again this morning, but there is a very cold wind and the clouds are gathering. Whoops! Just had a sudden snow shower, now it's raining.
It is diabolically HOT and the dratted electricity went off at just gone 10am [8am UK time] which meant no computer and even worse, no air-conditioning. When I called the electricity company there was a recorded message saying this Moshav, the next one, and the whole of Ashqelon was down and would be restored at 1.30pm. Luckily the power came back on a few minutes ago but even so after 2½ hours in this heat I am drenched, so off for a nice cooling shower and fresh clothes.
It was a bit cold and grey this morning, but turned to sunny gilet weather this afternoon. I had been told about a safely sheep netted cow lane in Lyme Park, Cheshire, so Merry had a rare opportunity to run free today, (I didn't see anything of Mr. Darcy though). 30 miles is quite a long way to go to walk a dog, but it was worth it to see her be able to hunt and gallop.
I've had some wonderful walks in Lyme Park! I used to live in Knutsford (with Tatton Park on the doorstep) but occasionally had a day out at Lyme. The wettest walk I ever had was there! Actually I feel quite sad now - none of those dogs are left now. It's been like winter here the last few days, but at last we've got blue skies and no wind.
