Foggy here as been since Wednesday & it don't look like its going away either - but on a brighter note at lease there be no fireworks on New Year Eve [Saturday] if it stays foggy as you can't see more then 4 foot in front of you.
Pea-souper here too and absolutely freezing. Car registered 2.5 degrees at 1 pm and the little breeze we had made it feel much worse than that. Definitely the coldest day of the year here. Glad to get back home to a warm drink and the fire on
Fffreeezing fog here, and quite icy underfoot. We had a quick glimpse of the sun at mid-day yesterday, and it is trying again now, but the mist is too thick for it to get through today.
We've still a little snow here, left over from Christmas Day and the top half of the garden is crunchy underfoot! The sun's been shining all day but it's bitterly cold and I've had a fire going in the living room since early this morning! The view from half way up the garden!
It's been freeeeeezing cold here (-7C) today and getting cooooooolder! And with a gale force wind and snow on and off .... not very pleasant! Tomorrow morning's forecast is for -11C so I think we'll be having a duvet day and keeping ourselves cosy and warm in front of the fire! If you don't hear from me it's because I've hibernated for the rest of the winter.
No snow, but then we do not get snow in this area. Sunny most of the day but ccccold and piddled down with rain all night. Tikva is rather unhappy at the moment - I think she is rather cold. Well I know that I am.
We got barney weather here in the Midlands, I left Derbyshire in the sunshine, but arrived at The Rescue Home in Newark (Nottinghamshire) in freezing rain its only roughly 40 miles away.
I know your neck of the wood well Tina. My paternal grandparents and all my aunts and uncles were born and lived in Awsworth Notts and my maternal grandparents and my uncle lived just outside Ilkeston on the Derbys side I was born in Watnall Notts and as a child we used to walk across the fields every Sunday to visit both grandparents
It has been minus 2 - 3 here and the fields are white with frost and ice. The good news is that the dogs stay clean!
Well up country seems to be hit pretty bad, its been cold, dry and some sunshine here not a hint of snow.
It gets very windy and does seem to rain a lot, yesterday was torrential rain and gales, but i guess we are luckier than most.
We had snow this morning for an hour or so. It did stick, but melted within an hour . Fairly strong winds but not nearly as strong as expected which probably helped in avoiding the tidal surge that was expected. Thankfully, our feet (and the rest of us) have stayed dry during both high tides - panic over - at least here in Skegness
I got snowed on whilst walking Tootsy in SW France this morn. It didn't settle and was only a flurry...Bleedin freezin
The weather here does not know what it is going to do. A day or two of heavy rain although mostly if it does rain in starts late evening and then buckets down all night - and the next day is sunny and very warm. Yesterday was a very warm and sunny day, teeshirt and shorts for most of the boys - this morning it is overcast and miserable and looks like it might rain later on. No teeshirts and shorts today! Not enough hot water for a shower either as there is no sun.
It's been snowing none stop here since Thursday and looks as if it's going to snow for most of today as well. So far at least 12 inches on the ground which is too deep for Gwylim and comes up to Georgina's tummy. Looks so funny with just her body and head sticking out of the snow! Can't go anywhere even if we wanted to so will make a nice fire in the living room and stay cosy.
Just when I took Tikva's teeshirt off [and binned it as it was too big and I had already repaired it once] and fought her into a jumper as it was chilly, the weather changed again Problem is she will get too hot at night as she sleeps curled up on a fluffy cushion at the sleeping end of her night crate so I have to fight to get it off and then on again in the morning. This morning it is sunny and very warm outside although cold indoors, but knowing the vagaries of the weather it could change in minutes, and it is bad enough one of us with a bad cold, so Tikki has her jumper on.
