No sockets in the en-suite so would need some major re-wiring to get one put it. I think it is a bit too small to be safe though. It is not the cost of the item or, indeed the fitting, but the fact that the en-suite was built onto the back of my bungalow. It does have a light, the switch being in my bedroom, but the actual cable had to somehow go under the roof [and over the plasterboard ceiling] of the bungalow itself and down through a conduit to the switch in my bedroom, and then up again and between the roof and ceiling of the en-suite, and I have a nasty feeling that the person who fitted the light was not a registered electrician. I will have to get Oren to check it [he is a registered electrician] but it might involve a lot more than just wiring in a heater and/or heated towel rail. Ach, winter does not last that long here, does it!
Cold and damp last night. No rain. I have two halogen heaters and an electric throw thing for the couch, so we're warm enough. Huge air conditioner for summer months. Florida's weather gives me something to complain about year round.
When we went to bed last night it was pouring with rain but when we got up this morning this is what we found ......... Georgina and Gwylim had a wonderful time playing in the snow, unlike their poor old mum who had to lug logs from the woodshed! Georgie's a teflon dog so no snow on her paws, but this is Gwylim when he came in ........ He looked as though he was wearing wellies with white bobbles on them! And as soon as I'd cleaned all the snow off his paws he immediately wanted to go out and play again!
Snow here late last night which was nice after a week of wind and rain. Nothing today though just sitting at 2 deg for most of the day.
No snow here at the moment, but it's bitterly cold and dismal. I'm trying to get prepared in case we're snowed in and have been beavering away cooking and freezing meals for the dogs. Over the past three weeks I've frozen around 25 kgs of poultry and meat plus another 15 kgs of offal... I think I'm going to turn vegetarian!
Hmmmm - not cold although we have have had a few days of RAIN and flooding so a bit cold but not Cold with a capital C. However, I thought it was time I got a duvet out from the cupboard under the mattress although two very thin summer blankets are still OK, so I managed to get Hai from the macolet to come over and lift up the wotsit that the mattress sits on. Problem. I appear to have five or six duvets Do Not Ask so I just pointed to the one that I had bought from one of the Arab blanket men a couple of years ago and had never used. I know which one it was as it is patterned and the others are white or cream, and one I keep saying I must chuck out as it is stained from Pereg having seizures on it... but I air it and it never ponged so I kept it. Tikva is well stocked up with food but of course I do not cook her meat - just pack individually and freeze. Bone stuff she has frozen, meat with veggies I defrost first. And I think I ended up with rather a lot of chicken necks and wings but I did manage to pack them once frozen in Pereg's freezer. Problem. I am used to buying major bulk for Pereg so when I telephone for whatever for Tikki, I have no idea how much to ask for, which is why I ended up with 5 kilos of turkey gizzard yesterday. Rather a lot but I have some in one of my crockpots doing a nice slow stew for me. Actually there is enough for quite a few meals for me as I also chucked in some soaked chickpeas and a tin of mushrooms. Such an advantage with Tikki eating the same meat as I do, with her just having it raw and me cooking mine. But I am running short of turkey liver and ox lung... ...and running short of freezer space. Booga
No snow here yet, but it's bitterly cold. I think it will soon be time for tiny Chico to have the embarrassment of wearing a coat when we go on our walk.
At least 2 inches of snow from about 9 - 11 pm last night. It froze during the night, and today, only thawed enough to make the black ice lethal. It has refrozen now, and is bxxxxx cold! I hope the lanes are clear as we are helping at a Working Trial tomorrow.
The area where I live does not get snow, but it does get rather cold some nights, especially as although I do close the shutters I keep most of the windows open so I have done a stupid thing. I ordered some doggy pj's for IT. Also a rain coat with legs - not that I can see her wearing either. She is in disgrace at the moment, having very quietly upchucked her lunch on my fabric recliner. And then bit me when I tried to remove it, Guess who is not getting any supper this evening.
That sounds like a lot of snow for November! I think I might do an online grocery order to make sure I'm well stocked up. The snow still hasn't reached us, but I'm having to defrost the bird baths in the garden - and I took a hot water bottle to bed with me last night! Hope you can get to your Working Trials OK.
It's such a drama getting Chico's coat on (he hates it) I can't imagine being able to get him into anything with legs on! He has a lovely Equafleece coat. Hope she didn't stain your fabric recliner. I've occasionally had to wash a bit of carpet if one of them has been sick, but I never have to remove the actual vomit as one of them always manages to gobble it up before I get to it. What classy dogs they are.
No stains and no pongs thanks to the de-ponger and de-stainer I get, but oh 'eck, she just opened her mouth and and out it came. She is currently on very low food especially as she is going to be spayed on Monday.
Horrific here ! heavy rain and gale force wind, had trouble keeping feet on ground when out with Heiko ,he dosent like the wind so it was a short walk.
This morning woke to pouring rain which we all hate and the dogs as usual just stuck their noses out of the front door, then went back to bed. By lunchtime the rain had turned to sleet, and around 2 o'clock snow which only stopped about an hour ago. No walkies today and depending whether it snows in the night maybe no training tomorrow morning because it takes me nearly an hour and a half to drive there .. but we'll see!
According to t'internet weather reports it is currently 21°C [69.8°F] and partly cloudy but mostly sunny. Later this afternoon and during the evening and night there will be a few light passing showers - night temperature going down to 16°C. It is a lot colder in my bungalow during the day than it is outside, but is not too cold at night - yet.
