Im sat looking at a NI and a Ute now and the differences between them are impressive. Now ones a bitch n ones a dog so thats one main difference but the coat and the colouring and even the way they stand is different, having never met a ute before i am now a very big fan of them to be honest. Rof is just yum x ( I'm a bit dense when it comes to difference though lol )
Shunka is so much like the Ute in the above pic and he is a fully registered NIS NID, Ref Shila's markings there are a fair few NIDs with such markings xxx
Likewise wise when I look at Paul's dog xxxx I think both dogs are lush but I am biased!! Xxxxx (I went to a Ute show a few years back and put a thread on here, can't pull it up as I am on my phone but if you want to see the dogs have a browse xxxx)
I don't know how representative it is of the dogs due to the splits etc but you are more than welcome xxxxx
Lovely looking dogs, seen a few pics of ni's with markings like your girl's. The difference between utonagans and northern inuits can be somed up in one word...collie.
Would there be any point in DNA testing to see what breeds that would reveal? Or has anyone done this before? I know nothing of this so dont know if it would be worth while ;-) Lovely dogs Jem
Have you read my question a few pages back? Don't think DNA testing is conclusive enough yet to prove anything to us Good question and yes I have too.
Two questions then: 1) Did Eddie add Collie after the 'parting' of ways? 2) Why do some earlier NIDs have a Collie cross look if the above is the case?
Ahhhh I see what you mean. My problem is, it has already been said about Eddie adding Collie, if other parties also added Collie and the split had already occurred, then Collie cannot separate the dogs, as they will share this ancestry? Or have I missed something?
