Malka it means they can be 1-2 cm difference, even if they are suppose to both the same size, the turn over stitched hems is were the difference will be.

1-2 cm if it is the hem is one thing. But a harness marked as Medium and is labelled as Medium, and is larger than XXL is hardly just 1-2 cm larger. Likewise one marked Large and is the tiddliest thing ever, it just is not right.

They do not measure them and just stitch on whatever label they have at hand.

Since Tikva was tiny and wore a XXS harness [company recommended by you, Tina, thank you] I had to buy first XS then S etc as she grew, and the ones from China are cheap and postage-free, and mostly fine. But when I order two harnesses, same shape, same size, from the same company, just different colours, and one is tiny and one is enormous, that is no 1-2 cm from a hem.

I cannot afford to return them - not worth it for what they cost [it would need a taxi coming from town, taking me back to town to the Post Office, then bringing me home] and Michal is always happy to have new harnesses to give to her new clients as a welcome gift.

Having been doing a search on t'internet, unless I can spend a fortune, which I cannot, it boils down to AliExpress in China, and eBay - their harnesses are also from China.

I am still waiting for the spectacle type harness to be delivered - if it is OK there are two other colours, black and a rather nice blue. I think I ordered a rose-coloured one.

But - I have found two other harnesses that appear to be escape-proof without being too smothering, but again it depends on whether the measurements they give are accurate. Or as accurate as possible.

I had checked all the mesh harnesses for secure D-rings - and the one Tikva was wearing lost its D-ring somewhere. She is now wearing an escape-proof "bling" harness which buckles round her neck and round her chest. Totally escape-proof but hardly a daily wear harness. It just looks so blingy.

Only one of my dogs have escaped from a harness when they were a puppy & that was Zeus he would puff himself up, so when I buckled the leather harness up it was to big on him around the chest & he walk backwards out of the harness.

Ickle monster is currently wearing one of those horrid bling harnesses, but they buckle round her chest and round her neck and she cannot get out of them.

    Yet.

Tikva does not try to escape - she just walks out of harnesses that are obviously the incorrect size, even though they look fine when they are on her. This lairy bling one is, I think, escape-proof and the D-ring appears to be well fixed in.

    I hope.

The thing is that Tikva would not go run run, but for me the thought of her doing so is terrifying.

Apologies for bumping this but I finally had to give up on the bling harnesses as they were not strong enough and I was worried as they stretched. However I had ordered one from AliExpress, which has a narrow but strong chest plate and is four-way adjustable, round her neck and round her chest, and a top handle for hoiking her up - and L-rd help her if she walks out of this. Actually I do not think it is possible although it took a while to keep the little booga still enough for me to do the adjustments. IF it stays on and I can find where I bought it, I will probably buy a couple more in different colours - sorry, I cannot get pictures from AliExpress.

The other [I ordered two but they sent me four?] No charge for the double order but they bought through eBay and came from China, and it is not the first time China sends duplicates with no order and no payment and when contacted they always say to donate the unwanted one/s. I should care - Ram will make sure they go to a worthy home.

Those are more like the Julius K9 - sort of - but even though I ordered Small they are a wee bit big. Both types of harnesses are sold for large dogs but with different sizes, so are nice and strong, with welded D-rings and nice wide webbing straps. Not all that expensive either, especially as they are postage-free.

This is what they are like and cost all of just over £4 each which is peanuts, especially for the quality.

The red one is very similar to the leapard spotted one, it is just a lousy picture.

The bling harnesses, even those that Tikki had worn, will go to Ram when he comes at the end of next month for Tikva's Parkworm shot. He has clients who are happy to be given even used harnesses and collars as they will help them, as they still take their dogs for regular check-ups and shots etc.

But - I will never part with Little One's harness and collars, nor with Pereg's EzyDog and Comfortflex harnesses and matching collars.

Maybe one day but not now.

Those look good Malka, and I'm sure that the handle will prove useful in your situation.
Tikki would have made a good test subject for a harness manufacturer!

Found the one she is now wearing, the one from AliExpress, although for some unknown reason I cannot copy and paste a picture, just the link - which quite possibly might come up in French.

I am 99.9% certain Tikki will not be able to get out of this one, so have ordered a couple more in different colours. As she wears her harness 24/7 I like to be able to change them to be washed every few days.

Oh, and I have just found [and ordered] a couple of stainless steel tags which come with free laser engraving both sides, plus are attached to a small secure ring which has a swivel carabiner clip to go on her collar, so she will end up with two tags instead of just the one she currently has.

Tikva would be the perfect tester for harnesses and suchlike!
