That's fair enough and I can see why you do it. That's why I also said that someone who works their dog properly will be able to call a dog off whatever they begin to chase. Which is why the owner working them should know the difference between a rabbit and a hare ;-)
i can call them of anything but as i didnt see that it was a hare i didnt feel a need to call them of, and i know they wouldnt chase a cat if they were with me because they are trained to wait until i tell them to chase somthing,
Marley123, IMO i do not think this is a forum for promoting hunting, you will get shot down in flames. I go rabbiting and in the heat of the moment it would be easily mistake a hare for a rabbit before it took off, the other day thought mine had got onto a rabbit scent when a fox shot out of the bushes, same day scented a Pheasant from a good fifty yards, sometimes you can see the difference in excitement of the dog from rabbit to fox sometimes you cant.
cause i thought they had got set onto a rabbit and i seen somthing move so i set them to it, and it well wasnt :-(
