Yes, will do, waiting for Figo`s too, sometimes they come in quick others it takes a few weeks, but I will post for you when it comes in.

Really think about the lka, it will be well worth it, the noise in the venue can be daunting, and it will also give you and him the experience of being inside after the outdoor shows, it will really make a difference for you, I would do a couple of indoor champ shows to be honest, you have qualified, so it would be a shame if you go indoors blind and it daunts him..

i would look at LKA and possible Manchester (Stafford county show ground) in Jan, thats what a lot of folk do, gets you back into the swing of indoors, there is a big difference.

    Thank you!

Most of our shows are indoors, but in much smaller venues. The LKA one does make sense though because of the venue being the same as Crufts and all.

@Jackie not sure you will see this in time, but you asked what other shows we're doing and just wanted to let you know we're at Darlington tomorrow. So if you're there too and are around at the same time feel free to come meet us at Ring B from 11.15am :)

Thanks. We didn't fair to well today. He came 2nd out of 2 and I had thought he stood a good chance today.

Am considering LKA purely for the venue as experience for Crufts. But will decide for sure in the next couple of weeks.

Don't get disheartened by your placing, it happens it happens to us too. Ne t time could be different, as long as you are happy with how he went, then that's good.

Agree about the LKA It's a good run for you for crufts ....

Yep, he moved really well yesterday and was IMO far more focussed than previous shows. I heard the judge say into her ipad whilst recording her critique something about movement, so I assume she preferred the movement of the winner.

But we had a fantastic critique the other day from a show we did the end of August. But in that instance his movement did scupper his chances of a win again as he wouldn't move steadily.

Don`t forget hes still immature, and this will effect his movement, some judges will forgive this some wont, and maybe the other dog was a little older and had matured more quickly than your boy. remember they will ALL have faults, it just down to which the judge is more forgiving on than others.

Very true. He's also got a cyst on his side at the moment that is noticeable when going over him. The judge didn't comment on it, but it could well be she felt it and went for the dog with no 'imperfections'. I wasn't sure whether the cyst would negatively impact on showing or not, but if I had had it removed beforehand It wouldn't have left enough time for his hair to grow back. Either way, we all take the best dog home, right? ;)

Got him booked in for his hip and elbow scoring on the 16th October too when i'll hopefully have the cyst looked at/removed.

To others, be they judges or just people passing on the street, a dog may not be 'perfect', but for us owners, our dogs are always best in show whether they have rosettes or just scruffy paws from running around in muddy fields :)
