This thread seems to have become more about people out-doing each other and making personal quips than about the actual breed and traits pertaining to the OPs thread opener.
It had the potential to be so informative, and some posts are terrific but I fear they will be lost in the `noise as its fast becoming a text-form caricature of itself.
What a shame people coming in at the latter pages are unlikely to take it seriously as an educational thread.
Unless it gets back on track sharpish that is...

JMO as a reader seeing a rapid downward slide on this threads content quality.

Hi Guys - I think it's perhaps time to call it a day.

Perhaps end it with a poll, and a link to this thread. Or perhaps even have a 'Have your Say' about it in the have your say section?

I think that Siberian Huskies are victems of a stereotype. I have 13 that go off-leash... You can see them in the video section of our website www.onqsiberians.com , or look us up on you tube.
This kennel also focuses on the advancement of the Siberian as a trustworthy family member http://www.wildcriessiberians.com/ .

I can see 9 dogs on your website, and of those 9, so far as i can see, just 6 look like PURE siberians, the other three have a suspiciouis look of GSD cross to me.
....and why, may I ask, do you have one listed on your 'meet our pack' page as MISSING!

"Trustworthy family member". theres and interesting one! as on your website you give this statement, drawing attention to the latter part of that statment:
The siberian husky (and not entirely convinced some of those on your website actually are) has NEVER in its history been considered a guard dog (which is a description you are sidstepping around here). very dangerous ground to encourage that trait and if you ask me, will end up going the route of other breeds. Am i not right in thinking the pitbull is totally BANNED in some American states?, yet still legal to own one in the UK under strict criteria. Once the husky is labelled a 'dangerous dog', thats the breed finished. Its bad enough as it is with some out there producing crossbreeds, which then attack and labelled by the public as huskies. As one example, the 'Huskamute' that seriously mauled a child in yorkshire last year.
We already have breeds given the unfair title of 'devil dogs', like the rottweiler, GSD, ABT. Certainly no TRUE husky lover here would want their breed labelled this way.

"Advancement of the breed as a trustworthy family member"
I have no issues with my dogs as family members, till you make this statement
given how hard a siberian can fight (I.E: to the death if need be) I not only find that second statement worrying, but find those two statements somewhat of a contradiction in terms

I assess the merit of a webpage on the content I happen to know most about. I have limited experience of Siberian behaviour, so went straight to the page on pigmentation.

No need to look any further.

Likewise!, I judge a site on ETHICS.
    I noticed this:

Bred from at a year old?, very few decent british kennels would do that.

they look rather german shepherdish to me too...maybe that's what you meant by encouring heterogeneous traits?
I think you need to read up a little more on genetics too your breeding princiles are flawed. :?

I'd go further Lyn - NO decent British kennels would do that. I don't know any reputable kennel which would breed from either dogs or bitches until they are at least two years old.
So - we have a kennel in the US which exhibits dodgy ethics, claims GSD crosses to be purebred Sibes and we are supposed to listen to their views on off-lead issues, when they are so obviously a paragon of virtue.........Don't think so Anne! If you want some support for your views, you need to find some more convincing bedfellows.

anyway, on the genetics thing: How I Wish it was so simple as to determine colour/marking as het and homoygous genes in huskies, unfortunately, its not. that dark faced girl of mine, with virtually no white hair anywhere has a mum whos nearly all white and a white faced father, so kinda blows that theory out of the water dont it?
Knowledgable husky breeders will tell you most litters are like opening xmas presents, you dont know what your going to get.

your right Mick!, was badly worded (not had a good nights sleep im afraid)
ALL decent kennels wait till the bitch is at least 2yrs, some insist on 3yrs
    2yrs being physically mature
3yrs being mentally mature. (though i would question "does a sibe ever grow up?")
