Can I ask how many of the people you have mentioned actually OWN huskies???

    Trouble...No

    KaiBlue...yes

Marieswolf.. yes but at 10 months it still has the capacity to turn deaf!

    Welshwoofs...No

    Mforster......Samoyed

Terrysibe... yes.. BUT states just cos they are good off lead doesn't mean they should be offlead

    LuckyStar....No

    Wysiwyg..No

Tuuli..Yes... but again I don't think he actually advocated letting them off...

I don't agree. A person has come on here complaining about a rescue, I think the rescue has every right to explain why their side. Personally I think the rescue has been very professional and has withheld a lot of information.

..BUT, they ARE Prey Driven, which makes them cattle worriers

But, hey never mind, we'll all take the chance just to try it out and see what happens, and with a bit of luck, the local farmer won't take a shotgun to my dog :x

(I wish there was a banging head on a wall emoticon)

So are you saying all prey driven breeds can not live with other animals ?

Then the post should have been addressed to them. I totally understand Helping.hounds frustration, she hasn't come across very well, something I've admitted to her myself.

Hang on - as far as I can see the OP never ONCE mentioned the particular Rescue? (though I have only gone through the first 8 or so pages - not going to trawl through 50+ pages). In the beginning all they stated was the fact they saw it mentioned in an advertisement!

Just to point out this quote is about free roaming dogs/latch key dogs, not about them being exercised off lead. Although I understand it's not something the SHCA recommend anyway

It was very obvious considering the posts on some of the husky club forums

I never generalised in saying other Animals, you did.

They can live with other animals but the point being made was worrying/killing wildlife/cattle etc.

They are very instinctual, and regardless of what YOU ..THINK you know, this is stronger than any silly recall you THINK you have over your dog.

    Is it worth :

    a. Having your dog shot by a farmer
    b. being sued for loss of stock
    c. having your dog injured by another animal
    d. having your dog killed by another animal
    e. losing your dog
    f. having your dog stolen
    g. having your dog become ill from picking something up

the list goes on and your argument is becoming very weak indeed. You are very quick to continue questioning everyone else about the origins of their research etc (and some of these people are actually owners), yet you dismiss any questions YOU yourself are asked (bearing in mind you have only LOOKED AFTER Huskies and NEVER actually owned any

I can't wait for your book to be released................

...you know, the one where you are the best breed specific expert in the Country, obviously and know more about this breed than any owner that has challenged you yet.

You are an insult to the dog world and the reason for talking to you in this manner, is that you will not see the world in any other way, apart from the way YOU WANT it to be.

    Get real !

That statement is not strictly true now is it?
    Taken from Mayhews website today:
strange then, that much of that description could be taken from any literature on the characteristics of a Husky. Like this for example:
    and this:
(Taken from the siberian husky rescue of florida)

    another comparable quote:

Well the majority of people on here are not members of whatever forum you mention so would have no idea. The OP has NEVER mentioned the Mayhew on Dogsey at all! (far easier to perform a search rather than trawl through myself  ).

Yes, and I was the one who recommended Sally the representative of Helping Hounds Rescue to the Mayhew.

    What  Who's Basil??

I can confidently say we would not rehome a dog until we ourselves had taught the dog a reliable recall.

Why is that not strictly true?

Hmmm I see my questions are being ignored then??

Good enough to fire questions at others but not good enough to answer others??
