Sheepdog training holidays? General Chat

    Is your dog interested in chasing sheep at the moment? The huge benefit of training a dog to work sheep is that the end product is a dog that is under complete control around stock. However, there is obviously the intervening months between the untrained and the trained that you would need to be wary and to err on the side of caution (ie keep your dog on a lead around sheep).

    I think the idea of guests being able to work an already trained and experienced dog is a good one - especially for people who would like to work a sheepdog, but either don't have the right breed or don't want to risk turning their dog into a sheep worrier etc.

    No, he's not. The only time he's shown an interest was when loads of lambs ran right across him. I would be interested to see if he did have any latent herding instincts in him. :lol:
