Well done to you. Did anyone get a video? Not an NI owner of course but wanted to say well done anyway!
Well done.. I always thought my Jackjack (RIP) would have been fantastic at SAR work as he was so good at tracking and ball obsessed... But unfortunately he never go over his fear of men.. Alas I think we would have been the only team specialised in finding only women ...
You really deserve it mandy, you have worked so hard to get to here and i am very proud of you and sakari x Im glad you posted on here that you have done so well its nice to see when "our" dogs do so well and so others can see too. Well done mate proper proud of ya, see ya at paws for a big hug
Well done to both of you, you have done so well and worked so hard. It is just amazing what you have achieved
Hi everyone, Many thanks for all your replies, i have just put on a couple of pic`s i hope you enjoy them mandy
Congratulations Mandy and Sakari. The pics are great - she has really matured in the last year. Well done both of you.
Well done both of you, love the pics, B. Inuits must be brainier than N. Inuits then I cound neva see Inka being that focused, except on a squirell lol xx Sakari is beautiful btw x
I don`t think so, it`s all in the training, when Sakari has her work coat on she knows she is in work mode take the coat off and wild life beware, she becomes the hunter. it`s very difficult but they have to learn working and non working, when the coat is on the 9 out of 10 she will switch off to everything about her and concentrate the job in hand. take the coat off and she becomes the dog. I`m thinking on doing Human remains with her so she will have to lern to leave meat alone and just alert on it, which will be a challange but it has to be done. but hey thats a long way off yet. i have two working dogs and it is hard to decide waht to do with them once they have passed their level 3 air-scent. but i do want them both to be able to do something else beside air-scenting Mandy
:mini: congratulations Mandy and Sakari, well done to you both, love the Sakari in action photo, she is beautiful
Congratulations ans not only is your girl beautiful she is clever as well!!!! You'll be getting called out all the time soon ;-)))) My partner is in the MRT and had thought about having our dog trained to be a SAR dog but we agreed no as he would get called out all the time having a SAR dog as well. With a baby due I guess I was being selfish. Congratulations, Valerie x
Thanks once again everyone, just to keep you all updated we had our first live search last Friday. Sakari worked really well she was searching for 2 hours and didn`t seen to tire, we had 3 dogs out searching, but sad to say we didn`t find the person. but it happens and the person is still missing.
