    Chico the Chihuahua says Wow! He's a month older than Sam and wonders why he isn't nearly 30" tall.

    It was Sam's first birthday yesterday :)
    He didn't go out for a special birthday walk, because he scared me half to death on Wednesday night and had to go to the emergency vet with all the symptoms of bloat...
    Thankfully he's ok, though the vet couldn't say what had happened. He on zantac and I'm paranoid now so am keeping him chilled out for a bit...

    But anyways. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BANANA <3

    I hope there is nothing permanently wrong, and he is back to normal soon.
    Is bloat a problem in the breed?

    It can be; a lot of deep chested breeds are prone; often fatal too :(
    Vet said it probably wasn't bloat, but that didn't stop me having a panic attack on the way! I'd much rather pay to be told he's fine than just wait and see with something like that
