Thanks for straightening that out laura. As i re-posted, i was begining to think different and that the "old time or regular" posters on here were calling the shots and from what ive read , seem to fluff feathers when an opinion dosent coincide to what they state. Oops how silly of me to forget, this is a Debate section, how blonde of me   this was my opinion also on what i see

come on guys, vote in my poll, what do you think Irish staffs should be called since some people seem to resent them being called staffords :?

No I dont. Just SBTs plain & simple it would cause less confusion too as so many people get caught up in a name imo. I just see them as Staffords just Irish bred or Irish strain SBTs, like a different strain but of the same breed if that makes sense. It probably did not come accross as I meant but I cant be bothered trying to explain anymore what I mean lol.

So , lets see here. Both lines KC and or Irish Staffordshire bull terrier ALL make their origin back to the originators of the breed, and their lines - Joe Mallen and Co. Some ended up in ireland and were bred different in size, larger to larger or fitter to fitter :?: The difference then so apparent that the term "irish" was infused to differentiate the smaller show stafford to the larger cousin in ireland :?:

Aint they both still Staffordshire bull terriers then :?:

Or should we start calling the stereotypical show stafford under another name :?: :!: Mini Staffie , as like the Mini EBT :D joke :!: :!:

Said I wasn't going to post on this again but just wanted to put one thing straight....never said it was wrong to post a picture...just that as I said when a picture is 'misleading' as Tusker said a person can only judge by what they see......if its misleading then why not post one that isn't.The bitch herself is a very pretty girl.
The only other thing I want to do is post a piccy of MY STAFF if thats ok since some people think I am commenting on something I have no right to.
Will try and find a decent photo but most were lost whenOH deleted my digital camera memory card by mistake"

This is Archer...my once in a lifetime dog.The photo was taken after one of his long term recouperations and so he has lost most of his muscle. At his 'best' he weighed 28Kg...he was 19 inches tall.
I evetually called it a day 18 months ago after 2 years of surgery and pain...

He is very handsome Archer, looks nice and in nice condition too. He reminds me a lot of the dog Holmes Dexter (www.holmes-staffords.co.uk the dog Dexter is pictured under our KC dogs). They bear more than a passing resemblance very nice indeed. Sorry about the loss

Wow archer! he looks gorgeous! :smt049 a real nice stafford - he looks quite a good size too, not too small not too big, not too top heavy either, what size was he just out of curiosity?

he looks perfect, nicely balanced and he has a nice racy shape, no stuffiness in any shape or form, I'd give him a 10 out of 10 :smt023 :D

would you ever have a staffie again or do you prefer the dogs you have now?

that is a real shame but I can totally understand why - once you have had a really outstanding dog no others match up and sometimes its easier to get a different breed so that you dont compare them.

To answer the rest of your question...why elkies? Because I saw one in win the group at crufts(on Tv) and fell in love. The attitude and compact 'power'.I then researched and fell deeper. They are the complete opposites to staffs...they are independant, sulky, and only do what they want to do...the trick is to get them to think they want the same as you.
My Arch broke my heart...crying now same as everytime I get talking about him...and thats 18 months down the line
