guys u are entitiled to ur opinion...but ur opinion is based on a misleading picture, ...this dog has not lossed body mass ????????...do u understand recovery stage's?...if u are near ur ideal weight and u have a hard work out u will show rib....during ur recovery stage....but as i say u are entitled to ur opinions...perhaps u can show us what in ur opinion a healthy wieght pull dog should look like ....thanx

I have a male elkie who is in a fit lean condition for showing. He can run (and I don't mean jog,I mean flat out) for hours and never show that sort of weight loss.
I've seen many photos of this type of dog and it seems it is 'aceptable' to keep them skinny

It is JMO but i think that is extremely unattractive, a dog with its ribs showing.
Being in a 'recovery stage' or not....

and what about all the other 'misleading' pictures ....are they all in the 'recovery' stage?

If a dog looses that much weight in one exercise session then it can't be good for the dog.....no need for any dog to be worked THAT hard

when you post a photo we can only judge by what we see...if it is unflattering or misleading then you cannot blame people for commenting on what is infront of them

Well archer, as i said in an earlier post u are entitled to ur opinion....but what is all this " well dont post it then " ...i can post any pic within reason i want to...once again could u please show me a pic (ino) of a healthy dog.....im all for open discussion......but please make ur reply's constructive ...we'v eastablished the fact that u dont like the condition of the bitch in the pic...but iv tried to tell u that she is a very fit and healthy animal...it would be wrong for u or anyone to judge another breed ..by ur own standards....i will answer any questions u want to ask...but if all u or gems can do is be funny about it..well i'd rather leave it at that .....thanx

I'm not judging a breed...I'm commenting on a skinny dog.
I know my dogs are fit and healthy...you don't win what my boys have won with an unfit dog.

If you like your dogs in this condition thats your choice...we don't and are allowed to comment cos as you say its a free discussion.

Have nothing further to say on this matter...theres already photos on this board of my boys but they are a coated breed to to see their 'weight ' you need to be hands on.

Hi tusker not a comment just a question when your dog has to make the weight do you take them below the set weight and then build them up to their weight or do you strip them straight down to
the set weight ,I personally always took mine below then built them up in the last 2 weeks found that they were a lot fitter and stronger this way and was always sure of making the weight
