Why not, I did, i love my brindle Boxers and would always go for one. As for Labs, love the yellow.. not fussed on black or choc/
Fox-red & black, and I'm lucky enough to already have both Although any black lab I have from this day forward would ideally look just like Blade, that dog is just perfection for me!
Yeahy, some one actually managed to get the name right! It'll always be yellows for me, but the red fox variety can be quite stunning. A really nice chocolate might be able to sway me too, but they're quite hard to find. I don't think I'd ever own a black tbh, I grew up surrounded by them!
To me yes it does, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it. It bugs me in the same way it bugs me when people refer to their Yellow Lab as a Golden Lab - no such thing.
Except 'yellow' and 'golden' mean two different things. Fox red and red fox is the same thing, said a different way around.
I would have thought it was fox red.. 'cos then when some one asks you "what colour is that" It makes more sense saying Fox red, than red fox..
Using the term Golden Lab is incorrect, using the term Fox Red is incorrect. It's that simple. No need to make a big deal about it, it just bugs me. Labrador Retriever Breed Standard:
Incorrect in your opinion -- changing the wording does not change the context or meaning of the words. But I'll leave it there.
Incorrect according to the breed standard as per my post, but like I said there's no need to turn it into a debate there are more important things in life to worry about! The incorrect use of the term "red fox" bugs me a bit, that's all.
Not living in America I would obviously say it's wrong for UK registered dogs. Really though, why are you wasting so much time on a topic that just bugs me a bit? I'm not sure whether I should be flattered or not!
Is there any other colour? I'm not sure why the disagreement about fox red or red fox, they are registered as yellow in any case, it's just descriptive of a shade. At least the two right words are there, unlike many of the ads that would have you believe Labradors come in silver, charcoal, fox cream, white, cream, toffee etc, etc. For what it's worth most of the people I know with the darker yellow Labs call them Fox Red, I've never heard them call their dogs Red Fox.
