TBH...I know of someone who is breeding a litter of Cocker Spaniel x Poodles...she isnt doing to make "designer" dogs, she is doing for a whole different reason..not sure if she is on here or not.

Anyway, the Poodle (stud) has health testing going back many gens, as does the Cocker (dam). I dont know what price she has in mind, but I would much rather buy one of these, than buy a badly bred pedigree!

^^ think tho (although I disagree with it) that they neuter to prevent people buying to breed (thus feeding the rescue/pounds)

Sis in laws was not neutered

Australian Labradoodles have Lab, Poodle, Cocker Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniel, and Golden Retriever to name a few breeds. I was doing a bit of research myself when I first heard about them.

He regrets due to exploitation, as well as the fact that he never achieved the perfect guide dog, like he was attempting. A failed experiment, and started this whole doodle (the naming, not the crossing with poodles) thing.

    Untrue

Not any dog can be good at anything. As well as breed dispositions which have been genetically engineered to produce dogs which excel at particular activities not all individuals of those breeds will have the same aptitudes.

So, for example, not all dogs bred by the GDBA will make good guide dogs despite their training.

You won't be able to "train" a gundog to have a "hard eye" or do a "banana" outrun to collect sheep; these are genetic traits not possessed by your Labrador or "doodle" ;)

But they did say labradoodles wouldn't be any good at being a Guide Dog lol. Proof is in the pudding.:023:
