Yes - a few years ago now. The lady in the picture is Fran She keeps a wonderful website - You'll find info on Paddy in there http://www.irishwolfhounds1.co.uk/
there's actually a 'Paddy' page on that site if you scroll down the left hand side. Brings a tear to the eye.
Thanks for that. Paddy was the most special of wolfhounds... He collected thousands of pounds for children with cancer and lost his leg then his life to the same thing. I promised him he would never be forgotten as long as I was alive, the website is dedicated to him..... He was full of fun and nonsence, he loved to play jokes on us. Running away a short distance on his three legs then stopping to get us to chase him, then he ran back laughing at us. He would also hide behind bushes and jump out at us when we walked past. We miss him so much. When he got cancer we had to decide if taking his leg off was the right thing to do, were we doing it for him or us. He wanted to live, he loved life and so we decided to try and save him, it didn't work he only got a few more months and then he was gone but we will not let him be forgotten. Fran irishwolfhounds.eu
Fantastic dogs and lovely website. Paddy was obviously a very special dog. Always wished I had room for an Irish Wolfhound, think I would have to move out if I did.
hi, just wondered if anyone can tell me the best way to get Druid ready for crufts, eg, what to strip, trim, and what to keep on, Cant seem to find any thing on the net about show preperation for the wolfies,:-(
sorry it took so long to get back to this, thanks ever so much fran, your very kind, unfortunatly my friend is in hastings at the moment and the dog is with her, but will go and check the web site for the grooming instructions, with luck she should be home in around one week, thanks for your help fran, may still need to call if we get stuck though, I will forward the details of grooming to her so she can get started right away,,,,ps, can you tell me is a full strip frowned on in the show ring? we have found it so difficult to find anything on the web re grooming for shows, so good you have added it to your web site Im sure it will help many newbys to the show world,,,, x shona x
I don't like a full strip on a wolfhound. They should look as natural as possible..not bald! The breed standard calls for the coat to be rough and harsh on body, legs and head; especially wiry and long over eyes and under jaw. Hope this helps you Fran
Hi Fran, look forward to meeting you, I think we may be staying in the same hotel? Im traveling down with phil and his dog also Druids owner, You will know Phil his affix is Marlaw,
I really Miss having an Irish Wolf Hound, our Molly was just so big and beautiful, soft and daft but so graceful!
Yes we will be in the same hotel...can't wait to see what Phil is wearing this year...he makes the shows even better
not sure what he is wearing. he has kept it quiet Has anyone got the breed entry figures for IWH for crufts this year?
