There was a hell of a lot more to it than that Jem, and niether bitch was anywhere near coming into season. I was not going to and will not risk dogs seriously injering one or the other, NOR my daughter getting caught in the middle of a full blown fight, and I do not believe it fair to separate a dog from the pack cos of the stress it will cause that dog. If you cannot understand this then so beit

You must know me very well to know how I feel about my dogs, and how I see them, funny that as I cannot even remember meeting you.

You know what it really doesn't matter what I say it will just go right over your head anyway and you will just believe what ever you want to, you have proven that time and again.

Mmmm, I find it odd how you can truely get to know someone pretty well without even meeting them :?

Now you know how i feel, its like banging your head against a brick wall aint it hun?

There are 2 types of dog owners, the first love there dogs no matter what and will do ANYTHING to keep there dogs, the second give up at the first hurdle and have dogs as a commodity and to make a few extra bucks.

I'm pretty sure I know which one you are as do most people on here

But she may well be a carrier because epilepsy is in her lines.

Of course, you won't know for sure because as yet, mode of inheritance has not been establshed. Nobody has a clue how epilepsy plays out in these dogs - whether recessive, dominant, etc.

Because of this and because there is no genetic test it is obviously best that you do not breed from Nanuq.

But you have said you will risk it, haven't you?

I dont know if this helps any but i do know of a couple who had 3 dalmation girls, 2 of which had a few scuffles then a few all out fights (none of the dogs were in season on any of these occasions) It got so bad that they took the decision to rehome one, this really did break their heart but all 3 dogs are happier for it.
Its so very easy to judge when we are not in the situation ourselves, some dogs just dont get on no matter what we do.

Marie has done this on more than one occassion and changes her story everytime, My girls kicked off on each other today and neither are due in season sometimes it happens i understand that i really do but to do it twice is more than coincendence (sp)

There is no more of a risk breeding Nanuq than any other NI, at the end of the day ALL NI are related, hence then need to outcross. Infact there is less of a risk with Nanuq cos she is not going to be bred to a full NI.

I dont know anything about Marie or what she has done before Jem but i do know how bad it is when bitches fight, they are so much worse than males & you have to admit you have thought quite a few times about rehoming one of your own girls. I'm sure many have judged you for that but if they are not in your circumstance's then how can they know what its like for you. I assume the same for Marie & her circumstances.

Well said thank you, yes it broke my heart to do it too, and my daughters.

The reason both had to go is cos when Nanuq came back luna and Breeze would not except her back into the pack and turned on her all the time, 2 against 1 and Nanuq got hurt badly several times. Luna and Nanuq have never got on from day one.

Yeah but may still be a carrier of epilepsy and you have no idea whether whatever you put her to is also a carrier. That is irresponsible.

There is no need to breed from her, none at all. You should allow her to life out her live as a pet and be thankful she doesn't go through what Loki goes through - same goes for you.
