I remember the Mal owning judge Nes is possibly talking about, she had a beautiful young bitch that she had bred herself which she brought to the show and was quite young herself with long dark hair. I will try to find out her name.

I think it was a lady called Aniko and the lovely bitch was called Tala, not sure if she bred her herself but I remember her showing me some photos of Tala and her mum Niah I think that was the Dam's name? Tala was very stunning.

Tala is a gorgeous girl (although you wouldn't recognise her at the moment as she is completely out of coat  ). Both her and Niya (their other Mal) were bred by Marina and the girls are half sisters (same dam - Dakota).

I'm not sure you have got the right person though as Anika is not on our breed judging list?

I could well be mistaken but I am fairly certain about Tala, has her owner got long dark hair?

Then it probably was her, perhaps she is a newish judge or not yet a fully fledged judge? the show was 2007 and she placed my bitch 1st, then best in show, so I was naturally very pleased and we chatted afterwards as she let Tala out to play, there was an older lady with her who let the Tala and their other dogs (not mals though) out at intervals during the day, perhaps her Mum?

I have just checked (incase I was mistaken) but Anika isn't on our judging list :?:

    Hi Greyhawk

The dog certainly does look like the one from the show, (I came across my pics last night). Ref the owner I cannot remember her name but she was pretty and young. Ref her being a judge, could she not be a judge but not a Mal judge? I am not sure how these things work?

It was at the Cambridge show , that is probably the only reason she has admitted to it, as there were a few people who saw what happened. She pinned him down by virtually strangling him with his collar and forcing him down. I believe this treatment, along with other contributing factors as to how she treated him, lead to his attacking someone (owner no 5 or 6:?: ) and being PTS, RIP.

WOW you need to be a it careful in those accusations Nes! :002: I hope you have proof of how she "treated him" to make such a statement. I kind of feel though, you dont know at all!

Yes, it is possible for a Mal owner to be a judge of another breed and not be a Malamute judge. You do have to have an interest in the breed you want to judge (which usually means owning them, or certainly being very familiar with them) and in the case of our list, the support of the breed club.

You are one of those people who has done nothing but contribute negatively to this breed! You bought an average dog and used him at stud, you used a bitch with epilepsy (and a curly tail ) and mated her, (I so hope no one uses her pups to breed from), you state that your oldest bitch (who was mated before she was even a year old and had a litter from this mating) may have the epilepsy gene but you will breed her anyhow:shock: You now say you have moved on from NIDs but because you want to make money from your dogs, instead of just keeping them as pets, you are going to cross them with wolf dogs:shock: :!:

No, that isn't what I am saying. You said that you weren't sure how these things worked so I gave you an explanation, but not one that was based on any actual person.

Sadly, because of the determination to breed from a dog from epileptic lines -despite all the advice given (she knows what it is like for Loki and me) - I am inclined to agree with you.

Seems to be par for the course with many involved in these breeds.

It makes me sick to think of future dogs going through what my lad goes through when there is a way out, i.e don't breed from them. It's not as though there is some urgent or economic need for them. There should be laws against people who deliberately breed from dogs with known health problems in their lines.
