Yes, i breed , on average, 1 litter a year. All my girls follow each other in their seasons and the boys obviously get the scent of them, its impossible for them not to as they tread the same ground where bthe girls have been. LS, I give him extra chicken, they have a glut of beef and lamb, lamb is usually good for bulking up. Dawn, i cant comment on how Merlin was cared for, but i would say it could be in their genes lol, although their mum is a fatty.

I met Merlin once at the show where he is shown in pics being placed. I do not remember him being out of condition. I do remember him being a lovely dog with a great temperament. This was not long after SC first had him.

It is very hard to believe that this is the same dog that I hear stories of attacking other dogs and people only a very short time after this.

I also know Merlins brother Moon very well. The most lovable dopey dog ever is the only way I can describe Moon (sorry Sue     )

Yes Moon is a slim athletic dog but in no way underweight.

Merlins story is to me a very sad story of an abused dog.

Abbie, if you look at the first pic when ww states that was taken when SC first got him, you will see the dip in his flanks, and bear in mind the angle as BD says it is very misleading!

And also the fact that he was placed in a dog show, that ww claims him to be so underweight!

Thanks for posting those pics Nes.

Yes I do believe he had dropped his coat and lost condition in the first pic. I can't see that he is being held tightly in the judging pic - he is just under control to stop him leaping up to greet the judge - he would have knocked her over if he had and I don't believe you liked it when he did that to you Nes.

The only show he was pinned down was Durham, when he got over excited.

Kate has already said that he was mistreated by the guy who had him after me and since I fetched him home on the sunday evening and Jem's friend picked him up the next morning - I don't think he was with me long enough to have suffered in my hands lol But he was in a poor state when I got him back.

Give up Nes, its clear you don't know what you are talking about and Dawn is right - you are the pot calling the kettle black.

Incidentally, it was the breeder of your dog who insisted that bitches were allowed one litter before being hip scored - you should remember that as you were at the meeting. You were warned about the hip problems from that breeder yet you still went ahead and bought your pup - regardless of the history of HD, none scored breeding stock and high hip scores on the stud.

I really don't have the time to keep arguing with you - but I am not surprised about this vindictive attempt to discredit me - it happens every time word gets out that I am expecting a litter. Maybe I should mention the other underhanded attempts to discredit me too. It won't work - you just don't like the truth. Any of you.

Not only was he moulting but he had also spent several weeks in a household with three bitches in season, two of which he was kept away from.

Thats a matter of opinion - you've obviously no experience of NI males blowing their coats and losing condition - especially when having been around bitches in season that they weren't allowed to mate.

Correct me if I am wrong Sandra, but did you not have 3bitches in season during august and the show one of these pics were taken, plus he was throwing his coat? Could this count for his loss of condition by any chance?

My boy does the same and it takes time for him to re-gain his condition!

Thats absolutely correct - so where's your problem?

By the way - if what you say is true then your mate in Devon still owes me a stud fee and my expenses for having to go down to Devon to pick him up.

He was never used until he came to you so it wouldn't have been cruel to get him done at all would it?!

Your mate obtained Merlin under false pretences - I was told she had a pure NI and an NI x husky - she even quoted me the pedigrees over the phone. I was not aware that she was going to breed the cross or that both her bitches were in fact crosses.

I was also your mate who 'tipped me off' that Merlin was being offered at stud all over the internet and offered him a good pet home. I don't honestly believe the story that he bit her child - I think it was a case of having got what she wanted from him she then wanted rid.

As Janie has said - each time I heard his home wasn't working out I dropped everything immediately and drove halfway across the country to get him back.
