Sorry that sounds snobbish , mine are just crosses, but I was looking up the American Staghound a couple of years ago, and they are amazing lookers, but I wouldn't expect nothing else , and I read that some lines are older then some pedigrees, and some may contain pit, and I've been fanisated by them since, but I don't know any lines, but was wondering whether your friends was known as a Stag, it don't make no difference though, I mean I don't think a hancocks better then my dogs, so I wouldn't think a Stag, which is said to be Deerhound/Greyhound would be better then any other lurcher or longdog.

No I've never heard of a Staghound. She was from racing kennels and ended up at the SPCA, billed as a Greyhound x Deerhound. Gorgeous dog named Blueberry (was a Blue colour with the deerhound coat) She died last year at 13 years old.

She sounds to die for, I'm not the biggest fan of blue dogs, but she sounds a show stopper!
