Dawn you should be a politian you avoid answering any of the points or questions Ive asked you - its an artform!

So let me get this straight because its not illegal you say you support the industry and its darkers side (on 2 you've implied you support it regardless of being fully aware of the darker side). What do you know about the darker side Dawn?

Dog fighting yep its illegal doesnt mean it doesnt go on though - just as bad things happen to greyhounds but thats ok because they are greyhounds?

Since when have you believed it to be morally wrong? You actively supported the seaham case saying he had done nothing wrong in your eyes and thought it fine! Its the politian in you again coming out changing slightly what you said.

No its not illegal to have at a minimum of 200 puppies on one premises at the same time (possibly up to 500) but you still have not said how you feel about it or whether you thinks its a good thing for any breed. Which is what I asked you.

Puppy farming is not illegal Dawn so I assume you have no problem with that either. Oh but then again you had a go at people for not protesting against them?

Oh and protesting is not illegal either yet again you have a problem with that?

Selling puppies in Harrods is not illegal but you slate people for not protesting against that! so your arguement that its all legal seems somewhat one sided.

You have accused people of acts of terrorism but do not give instance, you accuse protests of being violent and aggressive but will not give track names or instances where you have seen this and what the police are doing about it.

Must say Ive never seen anything on the news about greyhound protestors - can you give me some specific examples please - which tracks, dates, anything?

Im very interested in this as I say Ive first hand experience of protests at my local track so would like to hear what happens elsewhere either positive or negative.

What is your definition of an ethical breeder? What criteria do you want from a breeder?

Is part of that ethical breeder profile ensuring the pups have a place to come back to if there is a problem or the home doesnt want it any more? Or do you think ethical breeders should have to do no more than shove the dog into rescue if its no longer wanted or useful?

Still waiting for a response from them:roll:

I feel i must reply before I pop of to feed the pup's.
Ethical breeder's will heatlh test the dog's, will take back a dog 11 year's down the line or less or more if the family who bought the pup can no longer care for it, they will also have in place a rescue system were they will take back any of there dog's when the owner can't cope, they should be a lifetime of support for the new owner's, they should be the new owner's first port of call.
I have taken back dog's that werent even mine, I have taken mongrel's and BC when the farmer has dumped him because he can't work them no-more, I know breeder's who have done this and more, 2 year's back I had a call froma friend who breed's and they had a bitch pup to pick up as the family can no longer care for it, I went out with my oh and picked up the pup and kept it, fattend the por thing up and re-homed it, free because I am a animal lover first and formost and then a breeder, if people can't have a backup system when they purchase a pup, then it is sad, so very sad there are doer's and talk abouter's on this forum and then they are do-ers and if you sit and talk and slate them's that do, then in my book you are only letting yourself down.
So imo that is a ethical breeder.

Now if greyhound breeder's are not taking back there dog's and rehoming them then they can't sit back and say I'm ethical.

Am lost with all this talk on horse racing

You call whatever you want - you are entitled to an opinion too. HOWEVER. In my opinion (yep thats right - MINE) as long as there are dogs in rescue or being pts, I dont' understand the need for people to breed even more dogs of which a percentage will end up in this situation. Why should rescues run themselves ragged trying to get dogs to safety and rehomed when people are out there satisfying their own selfish needs? Because thats what buying a dog from a breeder is - a selfish whim.

How odd! I think my post was clear - do you need me to go over it with you word for word?

I have huge issues with several parts of the dog world.

What has horse racing got to do with it?

And greyhounds who will become pets? Tell that to the ones lying in David Smith's field.

Fab points Spot but just want to highlight this one and say that Walthamstow closing is just the latest in a line of tracks.

I agree about staffs Galty. Try to highlight as much as about the plight of staffies too. But its a completely different situation with staffs and the issues surrounding why so many need homes.

However the breed most needing homes is still greyhounds. And if the numbers of greyhounds passing through rescues reduced, the staffs would have a better chance of not being pts at 7 days because their space wouldn't be needed. Huge resources are needed to cope with the racing industry's waste product in pounds and rescues. Sad fact.

It doesn't matter how much money is ploughed into rehoming dogs by the industry (and I'm hoping someone else will post their figures on what is spent on what by the BRGF) NO amount of money can buy homes. Fact.

Dog fighting does go on. And like other illegal activites, e.g. hunting with dogs, its notoriously hard to catch and prosecute.

I to would be interested to hear this because I've never been at a demo of any kind where anyone but us have been abused or threatened...

In any way you wish, but to be honest , when one reads such a biased statement , as you have posted

There really not a lot more to say.

It seems your sole purpose on this board it to ,1) have your say about GH racing, nothing wrong in that, we are all entitled to our opinions, as you have stated yourself.

    2) You seem to have a huge problem with the breeding of dogs in general (correct me if I am wrong) .

You can be aggressive in your postings, and as in the above post patronising to breeders and those who buy from them, and will take any opportunity to push your biased view .

Just like the rest of us, you can air your views, but dont be surprised when we air ours back.

As you have basically called almost every member on here (who buy from breeders) as "selfish"

Whether we buy from breeders or rescue our dogs, we do so taking into account all aspects of being a responsible owner....

Of course there will be biased statements regarding greyhound racing on here are you saying only AA has made these?

Yes those of us can be biased against an industry that breeds these dogs only to kill them sorry if that angers you but just like you we can put our opinion you may see nothing wrong in it but we do. This is what angers us.

No where did I single out AA , an the only biased statement... EVERYONE is entitled to their views... and we can all be passionate over them...

We are all biased towards something... I have no problem with that.

Where do I say it is OK, to kill for the sake of it.

Your views or anyone else's views whichever side of the fence you wish it sit on, does not anger me......dont know where you got that from??

AA`s condescending statement regards "selfish dog owners" and "breeders" is the only thing that angered me.

Spot take your points one by one.
    First

AA has put her point over very well(yours are biased thought lack of knowledge) and I respect her for that even if I dont agree with her, but she has not resorted to Propaganda(lies)

    Second
    Your statment

Dogs are breed only to be killed "ALL" after their racing life is over??? YOU HOPE.

As have said before about the site that you refer to.

Peters(GA) has said in the past"The more dogs that the Rescues save the long it takes to shut this industry down"

Your last was a BIG BIG give away .

QUOTE """""This is what angers US"""""

You give links to Propaganda sites.

If any one wants to raise any points to the BIASED links given by Spot, will try to the best of my Knowledge try to give answers.

How dare you judge all these thousands of people because they buy from a breeder, who the hell are you to call people selfish, what is your problem? Just because you rescue Greyhounds, doesnt mean everyone should own one and not buy other breeds from breeders does it? My word, you will alienate millions with statements like that!

Ill say once more  Dog fighting is illegal, I do not support any illegal activities and would report any if I knew or saw any, Greyhound racing is NOT illegal and I like it and I support it.

Your comment does however fit in with the activist part though, as i said and as you have just done, these things are notoriously difficult to prove. :)

Galty its all very well resorting to insults again by calling me a liar so prove me wrong - why will you not answer these questions.

If dogs are not killed - where are the dogs?

What a very silly thing to say that I HOPE dogs will die - of course I dont, Im very glad that my 2 didnt die they are the most wonderful dogs I just wonder why someone didnt want them!

Why will the NCC not answer the questions, why will the BGRB not answer these questions? Why will you not?

If its all lies and propaganda why will someone not say where these greyhounds are?

Michael the Vet in the Newtonard's area NI rescued a greyhound last week after been out on call and seeing a man drag a grey from the boot of his car, and procede To take a shovel with him.

Fearing to the grey's life he confronted him, and asked him what he was doing,
The man said he won't race no more so I'm gonna kill, him. Not knowing Michael was a vet, Michael then said I'm a vet and if you Do what you said you will il have your'e @rse up in court for crulety quicker than you and say greyhound, and took the dog from him along with his car registration.

He reprted him to the police and successfully re-homed the grey last week only 2 days after, with a elderly couple and there disabled daughter to give the dog a life and the daughter a purpose.
So if people are saying this doesn,t happen they are clearly lying.

Never ever come across any one in this Great Sport that say this sort of thing does not happen, just the amount of times it is supposed to happen.

Glad this Vet reported it to the NI police hope he also informed the ICC they will have a name for the last reg owner.

One point on this thread I would like to make clear.

I brought up the word Propaganda and an Antie then brought up the word Lies.

Def of the word Propanga as I was taught it by a Teacher who flew Swordfishes in WW2.......

"The Germans launch a 300 bombing raid on London"

    The Germans state...

300 bombers attacked the Dock yards massive damage was done, light causalties on where encounted with 20 crew confirmed dead, the RAF lost 67 fighters.

    The British state.

300 Nazi Bombers tried to attack the Dockyards 98 ememy planes where destroyed, the RAF suffered light causalties with 4 Pilots confirmed Dead.

The truth lies in between... Thats propaganda no lies involved, but certain things ignored to try to make a point.
