Would point out that the one in the picture has one parent of Lab x Poodle and one parent as a GR (if memory serves me correctly).
Yes, it will be a change from a flatcoat, Ramble, but I didn't think I could replace what I had with the flatcoats, so I have gone for a "blondie". We were going to adopt a little springer cross, but she had some problems, which were not to do with her temperament, but I couldn't get a satisfactory answer from the rescue, so it was not to be, which was a shame. I am sure this is the right decision - all the health checks are in place (back 5 generations + and I have checked on- line). The mother is lovely and the pups are being reared in a home environment. I knew instinctively the breeder was fine by her attitude and experience. So all in all all the circumstances were right. Hope everything is OK with your family Ramble. Best wishes - Rena.
I've never met a GR x Poodle that wasn't wired for sound. Poodles can be very hyper, add in the heavy body of a GR and you have a mess! I ADORE St. Poodles, and I love GR's, but I would never in a million years, want a cross between the 2. besides, I've yet to find a breeder of the mix that does health tests here... they all have the whole "hybrid vigor" crap on their website.
Awww hugely pleased for you!! Very exciting!!!!! Will we get photo updates?!!! When is pup due home?! All good here ta x
i am excited for you! The in laws have a 4 month old blondie GR that they got at 8 weeks and she is fantastic, a really lovely fun puppy - and huge! She is going to be like a polar bear!
I will post some pictures if I can, but I have never learnt how to post them up on here. We will probably be able to collect her week commencing Sunday 5th June, depending on when the breeder thinks she is ready. I've just planted the garden up and got it tidy for summer - but I don't care about that now.
Thank you Missy01 - golden retrievers do look big as pups, especially if they have a lot of coat. Our pup will probably be a rich gold, with paler shading, rather than the paler cream which is the more popular. I am told that the coats change a lot, but usually the ear colour gives an idea of what the adult coat will be like. At the moment they have not started weaning, so there is not much to tell between the three bitches. The breeder has said we should come back in a couple of weeks when they are 5 weeks old and they are more active and, as we are first in line, she has said we can choose which one we fancy from the three girls then.
we have a Goldie and I have meet Goldie x Poodles lovely nature but very bouncy. Good luck on getting your Goldie puppy, for us it is the perfect dog,any names yet?
Daisy looks adorable Missy - just look at the size of those paws !! We haven't decided on a name yet Marianne, but the breeder asked us if we wanted to think of a registration name. Part of that may well be "Bonnie" so maybe that will be it. We have not actually picked from the three pups yet so we will see what suits later.
