I didn't realise only one club per breed was involved. Not a good policy at all I think, particularly in GSDs where this is likely to give a biased sample because of the breed type divide.

BAGSD and The League would probably have generated many duplicates, so some co-oporation would have been necessary but still this would be missing a major section on the breed in the UK.

Must agree with you there Pod but at least at BAGSD most branches train for obedience & some for breed & or working trails, there are no League bravches around here as far as I know & the group seem far more show & breeder related.

That's bad luck getting epilepsy problems it is in the Englidh lones & was in a few German lines as well but its getting better here. The trouble is back in the 60's before it was realised that some epilepsy was hereditory, there were a couple of big British champions who were epileptic & were used at stud. Then these lines were used again & again in a pedigree & so problems were there. I have had one friend with an epileptic GSD but he was not registered so it was impossible to say where his problems came from.
Must add I have several friends in other breeds who have had epileptic dogs as well. Personally I've only had an epileptic cat.

Why not ring Kazeti German shepherds. www.kazetigsds.co.uk
terrific temperaments. low hip/elbow scores and stunning looking red/gold shepherds. They also have a policy whereby for any reason you are unable to keep your kazeti dog, they will take it back. They are truly responsible breeders. I've got one and am over the moon!!

They certainly do. I absolutely adore my Yogi, and would have no qualms at all at going back to his breeders again for another pup in the future (except I will probably be going down the rescue route from now on). Their dogs are absolutely beautiful but, more importantly, have fantastic temperaments.
