German sheperds-differences between "normal" colour, and white Questions

    Just like to point out that white GSD's are not albino (blue eyes, lack of pigment) and do not have a higher incidence of deafness than standard colours.
    It is not a genetic defect, it is just a none standard colour, and many that are bred for colour only (like in other breeds) by BYB, tend to be unhealthier and have an unsound temperament- not due to their actual colour but due to the way they were bred.

    My Zephyr is nervous, reactive, and a bit scatty! But that aside he is a fantastic dog, takes a little time to trust someone but when he does he'll be pestering you to play! It seems alot of white gsd's are nervy, not because of the colour but because of the inbreeding etc :( But there are also nervy or aggressive gsd's of other colours. It all comes down to breeding, as said. My boss had a white gsd, I never met her, but apparently she was lovely, friendly, easy going etc. I personally think they are beautiful, but then I think any colour/coat type gsd is beautiful!!
