Does my pup look like an Akita? Photos

    Simba :) If you want to see many images of Akitas go to Google/Images/Akita and you will see many some which look like yours...

    Hi all again thanks for all the inputs and yes he has white blaze (pale) on his face, and I have pedigree papers for the puppy for 5 generations its only that litter was not KC registered and the owner said its due to restrictions on stud, I am very happy with the puupy he is little dynamo with all the energy

    Yep, they do have a curly tail, you wouldn't believe it from the photos but she had a tight double curl as she matured :)

    I's agree-- this gorgeous puppy doesn't look like a full Akita. The shape of the face is quite Huskyish, and the legs a bit long and delicate. Also the eyes: Akitas have a very distinctive eye shape. Look at Chellie's pics: small, deep-set, oblique and dark. Simba's eyes look more Husky to me. The coat could easily be Akita with those very well defined patches. I'd expect those to darken a bit in time. Not all Akitas have masks. There are two generally recognised types: the American type, which generally does have a dark mask, and the Japanese Akita Inu, whose characterising consistent feature is white cheeks. They almost never have a mask, but unless solidly coloured, those well-defined patches are a common feature. Whatever the mix, that is one beautiful puppy!
