What tests do the NI sociaety request before they register an NI then???
It is down to breeders to register their pups with endorsements which can be lifted when the said puppies have proved themselves as good healthy examples.....do NI breeders do the same?

yup tania the KC have the Endorsment system,

As far as I know it is hips and possibly eyes, then recommendations, but don't quote me on that.

I believe there are endorsements but pet only registration is a step further in making it clear that the dogs are not to be bred ever and should be speyed/castrated at the appropriate time. I think these are more related to parents not having been tested/accidental matings.

    Thanks.

So an unscrupulous breeder can still allow breeding from poor health/dogs with faults. If there is a known hereditary illness, parents haven't been tested, etc, there isn't a different kind of registration.

Lots of people think I look wolfy

Great shot, this looks like it could be on the cover of a national geographic.

Stupid question - is that a wolf?

    Awesome!...and scary...eek!

OK.. how in the world did you get this? Gorgeous!!

Is it a wolf, just not sure? Looks very healthy the eyes make the image, was the wolf feeding, the snow on the nose gives it the feeling of feeding?

Can't believe this is your dog - I thought for sure it was a wolf! Great shot and congrats on a much deserved ribbon!

I'm sure it is Shona, seem to remember jk being involved in sending it over, and she apparently has permission to breed !

Shona - Yes she is an import!

Inkliveeva - Hell no she doesn't have permission to breed! She hasn't even been tested yet! If we decide we would like to breed her, we will have the appropriate tests done and submit them to the NIS to see if she is approved for breeding. And then we will need some sperm from a male who has also been health tested and approved.
