Can I check the comparisons online anywhere? I didn't do extensive research but the few working line breeders I spoke to personally all did hip scoring but not elbow scoring. The main thing for me anyway, now I have made my mind up, is that Conbhairean themselves do all the health tests and every one of their dogs I have met has an impeccable and sound temperament.
Yes you can look here: Obviously you need to know the kennel names http://www.jaquenetta.com/GSD Elbow Scores.htm HTH
Thanks - well I know the kennel names of both the working and the show line breeders I would have been considering, so that is a start ;-)
Just a quick glance and a few names jump out Woolshan Westmids Vongraf Vomkyna Vonhauswolf Vongalenberg Vomhausnye Tyguard Thamespol Mayanser Carlsbro (show and work) Robbosline :Latchets Pepnick Optikas Nyrvana Notspol Metpol Lyfame Lakatamia Jensil Hausbailey Beckenberry Argonne
Not the best set of photos I have ever taken but unfortunately I was so engrossed in chatting and cuddling with these gorgeous dogs that I completely forgot about taking photos until it was time to leave Erika - the young hopeful And the drop dead gorgeous Dougie Watz Quella - mum to be (and ready to burst). She is due today All the other piccies were even more blurred than these Will do better next time.
If you ever do decide to have one, I really can recommend going to visit Heather, Dave and their beautiful dogs. I was highly impressed with their friendly, outgoing temperaments
Look at the fabulous colouring on Dougie! He really is a dog to die for (Not my photography ... obviously ;-) lol)
Hahaha! What are ya like? You were sooo adamant on a working line then.... BAM! You have been seduced by Conbhairean!! Can't say I blame you, they are beautiful dogs and going by how you enjoyed your day there, they are beautiful on the inside too and lucky to be owned and bred by wonderful people. I'm suprised there isn't a search party out for Dougie though, thought you might have pinched him xx
Haha - I know! As I won't be getting a pup for some time yet (especially if I foster Corder) then I am sure there is plenty of time for me to change my mind again In fact, my head is already being turned by a particularly nice workline I know - I am terrible I have to say though, that even if I do go workingline next time, Heather and Dave's dogs have the nicest temperaments I have seen in a kennel of GSDs for a long time. They are a real credit.
That will be show "stacked" photos you saw?? I have to say I still cringe a bit when I see any of the WGSL GSDs stacked in photos ... but when you see the dogs stood naturally it is altogether a much nicer picture (in my opinion).
I guess you think the oversized collie headed monstrosities are real GSDs? The show stance shows off angulation. They don't walk around like that
I guess you don't know much about GSDs then eh? Is my boy deformed? Or would you prefer to see one with its ar$e in the air and is actually unable to gait like it's supposed to?
Can't see the picture so, can't comment. Don't get so offended. No body else was. As I said I had googled them on images and then Moobli said they were just stock photos so unreliable. No I don't know much about them which was why I started another thread. You best not read that if you are so, easily upset.
You said they look deformed. If you know ANYTHING about GSDs, then they don't. Yes some can look overexaggerated. I will be offended when you use such a strong word as "deformed". I have read the other thread and can't be bothered with it.
Thats me told. LOL. x If I say GWP's are complete idiots you'll find people who have one won't get offended. I do know about those as I have one. As I have already said I do not know much about Alsations. GSD's. That wee avator of Dolce's is what they should look like to me. But,as I have already said I do not know much about them. I am getting childish now so will bid you good night. x
