Choke Collars Discussions

Pikey and I took our first walk using the half check collar on Monday morning. The collar was adjustable, so I think I made it a good fit. It seemed more comfortable for both of us, so I am grateful for the member who suggested I make the switch from a choke collar. Over time, this change will make a big difference.

I have never used choke chains or anything like that in my opinion they should be banned from the shops, our 3 year old Shetland pony pulls on the lead rope while taking him in and out of the field but you don't see us putting a choke chain on him most people would say 'you wouldn't because he is a farm animal' but he is the size of a fully grown Golden Retriever and has the strength of a great dane they are horrible traiing devices but if it works for you then stick to it whatever makes you feel more comfortable when out walking
