Cattle dogs on tv Working Dogs

I never realised that your breed had so many film and tv appearances. They are a minority breed over here, the only ones I know are in dog sports homes.

I keep coming across more so I’ll keep adding them as I can Carole .
As a cattle dog tribute .

here is Sophie the Australian cattle dog “Robinson crusoe” .

she fell off a boat in the ocean off Queensland coast and swam (at least )5 nautical miles in rough seas to a tropical uninhabited island where she lived for 5 months eating feral goats and the like until rangers found her and brought her home .




she has a book out too apparently .

17 year old deaf and partially blind cattle dog named max , stays with 3 year old girl lost in thick forest in Queensland 15 hours . They say he is a hero and make him an honorary police member

There is a lot of space in the country here in Australia at least .

I suspect he is a bit scared of cattle dogs as he seems to have a slight aversion (not a dislike ) more like a healthy respect from his previous experiences with Australian cattle dogs .

he states that the recent type cattle dogs are no good by their build to work cattle and I must agree somewhat although , if he came to North Queensland or country New South Wales or anywhere outback he would see they are still common in their working form .

he would also see they are still required to work hard cattle , some cattle have never even seen man before and are wild .
So when he seems to think these dogs are too hard for today’s docile cattle he is also wrong .
That said he is not wrong about much else .

Well I’m also not interested in his ideas of changing the breed to be domesticated and run of the mill house dogs much , or to change their temperament I must add .
They’re perfect the way they are , after all the way they came provided us with the dog they are .

so I’m glad we can still get the proper working dogs here .

Yes you have to be an enthusiastic owner alright ! , after my 2 blue mates were taken for a drive to go swimming today , they then went chasing rabbits on our walk , then came back and caught a rat ! . What a bloody mess
Sometimes I feel like a lazy day , that never happens . It’s a full time job keeping them busy .

I told Tornado-dog just last night.

I love you most for three things: when you're asleep, when you're sleeping, and when you're not awake.

The rest of the time he is busy busy busy. And that means work work work for me.

Well with everything going on they have a new tourism push for Queensland (Australia) going on .

another version of one of these “days like this “ ads also has a cattle dog riding on the rear of a horse drawn wagon briefly at the start . So they got that right !
