    Oh Wow I'm liking what I see there. So although that is a Working dogs site it purely means "obedience" working then, not as in what we call the working lines? Also what does that SCH 3 mean then, I know what the Sch means of course the Schuthund, but why the 3 what does it stand for please when put after the Sch then? Thanks Pam:blush: questions, questions and more questions!:grin: signed: Dipstick!:grin:

    They are show German lines

    Sch H III-Schutzhund level 3(now called Vielseitigkeitsprüfung für Gebrauchshunde(VPG))

    All GSDs in Germany have to pass at least one level of Schutzhund before they can be bred from.

    The working German GSDs have other titles such as IPO

    Schutzhund 3 is the highest level of Tracking, Obedience and Protection;
    Tracking on a 800 to 1000 paces long track laid by a stranger at least fifty minutes old with three objects.

    The strange track has four 90 degree right angle turns. The judge, by taking into consideration the existing terrain, will determine the course of the track. The tracks must be of different shapes. It is not recommended that the corners and articles be at the same distance on all tracks. The start must be properly marked with a sign or marker which is to be pressed into the ground at the left hand side of the starting point. The tracklayer, after remaining at the starting point for some time, will proceed in the direction as indicated by the judge and places the first article after approximately 100 paces and the second article on the middle of the second or third leg without interrupting pace or changing stride. The third article is to be deposited at the end of the track. The tracklayer will now proceed a few paces straight ahead and move away from the track. The handler has the option of tracking the dog freely or with a 10 meter leash. Both methods will be scored identically.

    Obedience phase;
    Heeling Off Leash - 10 points
    The handler reports to the judge with a free heeling dog. The leash must not be visible to the dog. The handler is only permitted to use the voice command when starting the exercise or when changing pace. When the handler comes to a stop, the dog should come to the sit position without being influenced by the handler. The heeling off leash exercise is to be demonstrated to the fullest extent. Special emphasis must be placed upon gun indifference. The shots must be fired from a distance of fifteen paces with two shots fired with a ten second interval. Should the dog run away from the gun shot, the dog is to be excused from further participation. Should the judge detect gun insecurity in a dog it is permissible to test the dog with additional gun shots. The gun shot impartially test can only be executed during the heeling off leash and long down under distraction.
    Sit Exercise - 5 points, Down With Recall - 10 points, Stand Stay Out of Motion - 5 points, Stand Stay While Running - 10 points, Retrieving a Dumbbell Weighing Two Kilograms on Level Ground - 10 points, Climb-Jump Over the Inclined Wall (Height 1.80 Meters and Width at Bottom 1.30 Meters) and Retrieve an Object Belonging to the Handler - 15 points, Go Ahead and Down - 10 points, Long Down Under Distraction - 10 points: Minimum point score is 70 points

    Protection phase:
    Search for the Helper - 5 points
    The dog's search for the helper is the same for Schutzhund 2 and 3.
    Hold and Bark - 5 + 5 = 10 points
    The hold and bark exercise is the same for Schutzhund 1, 2, and 3.
    Escape - 10 points
    The escape exercise is the same for Schutzhund 2 and 3.
    Defense - 20 points
    The defense exercise is the same for Schutzhund 2 and 3.
    Back Transport - 5 points
    The back transport exercise is the same for Schutzhund 2 and 3.
    Defense Against Attack with Lying in Wait and Guarding of Handler - 15 points
    The defense against attack with lying in wait and guarding of handler exercise is the same in Schutzhund 2 and 3.

    Defense Out of Attack with Guarding Position - 15 points
    The handler leaves the designated hiding place with the free heeling dog and goes to the designated starting position (center line). The dog sits freely on the handler's left side or the handler holds the dog by the collar. The handler is not allowed to stimulate the dog. The dog has to remain calm. The dog has to maintain the sit position until released with the command to stop the attack.
    If the dog does not remain calm up to 3 points may be deducted.
    The second helper leaves the designated hiding place at a distance of about 70 - 80 paces from the handler and runs across the field. The handler orders the helper to "Stand still". The helper ignores the order and attacks the handler and dog from in front. The judge will immediately signal the handler to release the dog to stop the attack and the handler sends the dog.
    The dog should stop the attack forcefully with an energetic, firm, full, secure and calm grip. When the dog has a grip, the helper will briefly press the dog and then cease the aggression on a signal from the judge. No stick hits will be applied. The dog should release the grip independently or after one verbal command and then guard the helper.

    Defense - 20 points
    Same as Schutzhund 2 and 3 defense after the escape exercise.

    Minimum point score is 80 points

    Hope that helps.
