aww bless you,as far as i know there are only a few blue merle collies inthe country especially pups there are no others in south wales apart from my boys other brother and sister
Its hard to find a really good quality merle, but jens boys are just amazing! keep the pics coming!! And of course more of the gorgeous Jess too
hows tj today gems still as cute and cuddly cant wait to see more pics of him and not forgetting scrumpy jack hes really gorgeous
TJ is mad today!!!! like a little whirlwind lol!! Grown again lol!! Ill get some more pics tomorrow! Scrumpy is very well too ill get some piccies of him too! Scrump says thanks
:smt049 Im so pleased that tj and scrumpy are getting along so well and its nice that scrumpy has a new brother to take under his paw give them both a big hug and a big WOOF WOOF from the boys
TJ is going to be an absolute stunner when he gets to be a big boy! All the girlie collies are going to beat a trail to his door! So, so handsome! BTW, I think I heard somewhere that Blue merles can't be mated, as the gene is a "lethal mutation" which kills the pup before birth*. I don't know if it's true or not, but, if it is, it might explain their comparative rarity. *(when combined with another blue merle allele) Snorri :?
Yeah i dont believe merles can be mated together! not a good idea thank you for the kind comments about TJ, i think he is stunning but i am biased, slightly
snorri and gems you are both correct on the mating bit with merles two merles cannot be mated but a black and white collie and a merle is how it should be
Hi merle to merle matings do not actually kill the pups but they can be born deaf and or blind and that is why it is not recommended. Having said that I know a beautiful deaf collie that came from an accidental merle to merle mating and the rest of the litter were fine.
