Could not get to the doctor this morning as it was bucketing down, so no chance of getting the Prednisone and a new Epipen now.

My face is still swollen but there is nothing I can do now. And cannot even get across to the macolet although I think I have enough in stock. But no way would I go even if it was not raining as I am not prepared to show my face at the moment.

Mind you, I could always tie a scarf across it - but I do not have any scarves. :(

Got my sense of humour back though!

To be honest I do not feel too good but at least the swelling is going down so it could be a lot worse.

I just wish I had been able to get to see my doctor and get a 'scrip for the Prednisone which is the only thing that will help, plus another emergency Epipen. But I could not so there is nothing I can do, is there. She will not be here again until late Monday afternoon so I just have to hope things get better and not worse.

Not complaining though. Just feeling a wee bit miserable and the weather is not helping.

    But hey ho
    That is how things go

    And better they go
    Be finished and done

    Than totally give up
    And then YOU are
    Gone!

How are you feeling now Malka? And how is Pereg? I hope the weather is improving and life's getting back to normal again. Hugs from me and the royal family. :049:

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier Barbara - I have been resting on the couch most of the day with Pereg, and not on the computer that much.

It is still raining and still cold - my face is still a bit swollen from the allergy attack but going down and a lot better, thank you for asking. Pereg is, hopefully, going to recover a bit - but for the moment she is resting most of the time.

Hugs backatcha and also to the Royal children of your household! :)

Glad to hear that Pereg and yourself are feeling better today. It cant have been much fun cleansing Pereg without running hot water. You are both doing the right thing, and getting some rest. I hope the storm abates soon, so you can get your scooter to the macolet. Take care.

Carole - adult wipes [like giant baby wipes - no, I mean giant wipes for adults not for giant babies!] are not only ideal for me but also for Pereg.

The macolet is, of course, now closed until Sunday morning and if it is still raining and I cannot go out on either Xanadu my chair or Tontoo the little scooter, then I cannot go. But luckily I am well stocked up on more than just basics, and although I am now using the induction hob and not my small gas one, if the power is off for too long I still have one full gas container and one which is probably over half full, as I always get a refilled one when one empties and I have to switch over to the other one. The gas company truck comes round every Wednesday - that is the company I use but there are two other gas companies that come round on different days and I could always get a refilled container from them.

So I will still be able to cook or reheat ready cooked food from the freezer.

I am totally ignoring the state of the stone tiled floor - the carpet is muddy but when the mud dries a stiff broom sweeps the mud off without even needing vacuuming. And my couch and recliner are covered at the while there is so much mud and muck outside.

And it really is muddy and mucky outside - a bit flooded in my patio as well as the drainage ditch at the side has filled with mud! :D

I'm pleased to hear both you and Pereg managed to get some rest. As for the mud I'm more or less in the same state as you because its been thawing all day and outside is slushy and the wet gets tramped into the house on muddy paws and wet boots. I'm ignoring it and the tiled floors will only get washed once all the snow has gone. My kitchen Aga type stove is going so even if the gas gave out at least I can heat water, although one year my water pipes froze and for nearly three weeks I had rely on neighbours to keep me supplied with about 10 litres a day, but its surprising how little you can manage with if you're forced to!

Hope you and Pereg are feeling better today ... hugs from us all.

I can heat water in the kettle to do washing up but it is not really enough or possible to do a strip wash in the kitchen, hence the pleasure of adult wipes! She is getting both vision and hearing back slowly so I am very grateful for that.

As long as the power is on I can keep warm but continually washing my hands in cold water [usual times, not OCD, but after the loo or before touching food] has caused split fingertips which are painful.

And I am trying to rest as much as I can because I need it and also it is helping her to try and recover.

Thank you for thinking of us.

We need the rain Tina although what falls in this particular area is sadly mostly wasted, because it is in the wrong place.

I would really like some hot water though! :D
