Could you tell me which ones aren't typically Saarloos? I know many of these imported dogs and one was even a successful show winner in Europe. It was also featured on a television series about dogs along with extensive footage of the 'dodgy' kennels you mention.

Have you met a Lupo Italiano to judge its temprement or spent a considerable time with wolves to compare their behaviour to that of the Saarloos?

    Just curious, thats all.

Well Genova isnt typical (no offence Navajo, I know she is beautiful really) and others in the photos all look totally different. The dog I do like is "Carlic" to me, he fits the standard quite well, although I cant comment on his temperament, but from what Ive heard he is fine. Then we have the temperaments, the one that was shot, the one that was difficult, Zsa Zsa was it? cant remember. Genova who was obviously very stressed to escape like that, but now I believe is settled and much happier. All these things leave me wondering.

The Lupo I have only read about, I rather compared them to some Malinois in looks, but obviously not temperament.

Re the kennel, at present and from what I have been told by close sources, Im happy to believe what has been said about it is true, and the photos I posted on here of the dogs owned and exhibited by this person were absolutely disgraceful, further backing up the claims. I may be wrong and Ill apologise and eat humble pie if I am, but the condition of those dogs in the pictures was pitiful, nothing less.

All dogs can display "wolfish" behaviour, just because the characteristics have been "preserved" or encouraged in certain breeds does nothing to alter my opinion of crossing them with wild animals or any other breed or type of dog. Wild animals should stay wild, not petted and manipulated for financial gain.

No, but she knows a hell of a lot about border terriers:grin: Anyway, I dont think your experience is at all relevant here "wolfdogowner". Perhaps you should but out-cull your malformed evil aggressive animals and buy a nice border terrier instead?

You are just sooo naughty. But you are obviously quite right too.

I am just a little confused as to why a dog crossed with a wolf isn't wolf like?

This is very confusing. I guess your close source must be Mr Ronnie aka Paul Winder, or did you visit the kennels yourself?

What photos of what dogs don't look like Saarloos to you?
    Please name the dogs.

Yes it is!!!! Almost every owner of these breeds that i have spoken to keep telling me how special their dogs are and imply that they are above the rest just for owning these irrelevant breeds- I say irrelevant as they are being created just for looks imo.

Except the ones that are working!

How many owners did you actually talk to (in real life that is)? Don't worry we still love Alsatian wolfdogs.

Thats a bit of a sweaping statement, how many have you spoken too face to face? Surely every dog is special to their owner/s? How did they "imply" that they are above the rest?

They maybe irrelevant to you, but they are not to many others!!

I think this has been put across in a non bitchy way and would like to see some of the Saarloos x owners take up the points Dawn has made here instead of just dismissing them. Anyone prepared to give it a shot?

Again, the sum total of none face to face.

Im afraid your wrong here Cheyenne. It is clear that the only "relevant" breeds are border terriers and German Shepherd dogs (Alsation Wolfdogs). Now if these were to be crossed perhaps we could have the "ultimate" breed:grin:

Anyone got an opinion on that one?

Dunno out about Lupos or czw's i.e.only met a few czws and I believe wolfdogowner has made a very valid post which covers the point.

Would you also like to see wolfdogowners question answered regarding the slur on his dogs and the french kennel? This was, of course, made in a very non "bitchy" way:grin:

I would think the slur on the kennel thing, well time will tell, if these people are being taken to court, the outcome of that should be final.

If these people are being taken to court it would be a most interesting development in French law. As the punters who are "apparently taking them to court" are based in rule brittania! mmm something doesnt quite add up here:?

You gotta ask your self what they are being taken to court for and by whom? Why would anyone want to see a kennels closed with so many dogs to re-home and what do you concerned good citizens think would happen to the dogs (real world not dreamey time)? As the kennels has been run by someone else as business under French law for some time then we are back to question one. As the good folk on the forum are so full of answers then please answer some of my questions for a change.

Absolutely typical responses I should of known better, never mind eh. Yet again I ws NOT nasty, NOT rude, but snapped back at by people who hate the fact people see wrong in crossing wild animals with domesticated breeds of dog!!!

oops did I let a rather inconvienient cat out of the bag there regarding FRENCH LAW. Maybe your right Dawn and I should just scuttle back to my funny wee stories:grin:

Before I go though (pure colombo style) could you perhaps answer wolfdogowners question which you are so neatly avoiding?

Stop being so damn rude, it does nothing to enhance your credibility, in fact you are clearly here just to cause aggro, when some other posters, myself included was asked a question then responded, but got leaped on, instead of having their comments addressed in an adult fashion.

Ill answer nothing with an attitude like that.
