i dont know how true it is, but ive heard they can be really nasty and incredibly possessive and guarding towards everything. cannot comment first...
you can massage the ear into the correct position by folding it into the shape it should be then massaging the crease with a bit of sunflower oil on...

to be honest, i'd highly recommend a leonberger to a novice owner, providing you keep them disciplined ie no means no. no jumping up, no settee etc...
he is yummy.... i could eat him up ;-)
a high oil diet, then for an instant pick me up, Mink Oil, swear by it... smells great too
