A double hit at that! To cut a long story short I use an induction hob these days as I am not safe near gas or regular electric hobs. But my first one, which was probably the first ever here and rather expensive, came with a set of two saucepans and one frypan. Which would have cost nearly all of the hob. I then won another induction hob - forgot all about it until it arrived. But 99.9% of my other pans are useless on induction hobs. Well they would be, wouldn't they, to borrow a quote from the late Mandy Rice-Davies. And pans for induction hobs, which are still not that common here, costa fortune. And then I saw, in one of those little monthly cattys that turn up once you have bought something from them - a set of three saucepans which they said were suitable for induction hobs. At a very reasonable price. Yeah, yeah, been that, done that, and chucked out the teeshirts because the pans were not suitable for an induction hob. So telephoned, question question question - I mean I knew the brand and knew they are top quality, but for a set of induction pans at that price? Not possible. So they said that they would send me two sets for the price of one, and if they were not not what they said they were I could keep the pans and they would refund my money. The pans arrived an hour ago. Much better quality than I had thought, and yes, perfect for the induction hob. Oh, and quite big. Actually much bigger than I had expected. They also sent me a set of a double duvet, two pillows, and two blankets as a present. Oh, and told me that they were not going to charge me for the pans, whether they were suitable or not - money already refunded to my card - wished me Chag Hannuka Sameah - Happy Hannuka... ...so I think I have won the jackpot!
Welllll - the next time Pereg has a sz on the bed I can now chuck the duvet instead of airing it to dry it and remove pong. It is far too big to go in my washing machine and has been pee'd and poo'd on more times that I want to think. I do have another spare one but who is going to refuse a freebie?! Think the blankets are singles though but they will always come in handy, and although I have not unpacked the pillows I think I will use them and chuck the rather elderly ones I had. As for the pans - oh wow. I cannot believe that I had spent so long looking for reasonably priced induction pans without finding any, and when I saw these I kept telephoning and kept querying whether they were really suitable for an induction hob - I think they got fed up with me! One minute they said yes, so I ordered, next minute "we do not know" so cancelled order, but an immediate phone call back yes yes yes, guaranteed. So I have ended up with two sets of three excellent quality, which are perfect for induction. Can also be used on gas/electric/ceramic/halogen - but I wanted for induction only. And I have ended up with two sets - free - plus a double duvet - free - plus two pillows - free - plus two single blankets - free... ...Think I have hit the jackpot - twice!
Everybody deserves a little good luck occasionally, and I'm pleased that some has come your way after your recent setbacks.
Luck? I mean who gets all those perfect things for free when wll you wanted just one set of 3 pans - and ended up with two sets, a double size duvet, two pillows, and two single blankies all for free? But I dinna believe in dada Chrimbo.
