    Working line Labradors

I am aware I have started a few of these threads now
    Just curious though!

How different are they to show line labs?

    How much daily exercise?

I actually know two working line labs - one of which lives next door and I know very well  but just asking more people to get different views/experiences :D

    Pics too!

Looks-wise, a 'typical' working Lab may be a bit taller, and lighter in build; leaner. A lot of people tell me that Dexter must be from 'working stock' as he is totally different to all of the 'show' type Labs we see in this area.

Some working type Labs may have higher energy level, but I wouldn't want to generalise too much. My brother's Lab is from a 'show' breeder and trust me, he's got more energy at 11 than most dogs a third of his age!!

How different are they to show line? I'm guessing you temperament wise. They are usually more eager to please, responsive and biddable than pure show type I find. They will have energy but also have an off switch -- a working Labs job involves a LOT sitting and long periods of inactivity.

Exercise, they will take whatever really. They are easy going dogs who should be undemanding and 'go with flow'. They should adapt to whatever you chose to give (within reason obviously!).

Nah, most working Labs temperament should be roughly along those lines.

My 'working' lab is like that, his ball is his world!!!!!! He is very driven, very clever and LIVES for his gundog and obedience work. :)
