...that the one thing you are waiting for is the one thing that doesn't arrive! I've ordered loads of stuff from Amazon this year, and almost everything arrived very quickly. My son wanted the latest series of Justified on DVD, as he reckons there's nothing worth watching over Christmas. It wasn't released until the 15th December but I pre-ordered it, and it was despatched on the 16th. And now I'm getting worried! According to Royal Mail the latest date for posting for second class was 18th December, so perhaps it will arrive tomorrow. I'm kicking myself now for choosing free postage. Serves me right for trying to save money!
I do hope you get your package from Amazon tomorrow. At the moment I have four orders from iHerb in the US on their way, two orders from Amazon, three from eBay and about a dozen from China - the latter ordered for friends on the Moshav who had asked me to get things for them. And I will not get any of them because moaning Meri who delivers mail to the mailboxes [and who is supposed to deliver parcels but expects you to watch out for her and go across and sit there like a lemon] has yet again told the Post Office that she is not going to work any more unless she gets more money and is boogering off as of 31 December, and none of these will arrive before then. Last time she did it we had no mail for probably over a month, but as the PO could not find anyone else they gave in, and it took nearly a month for the back-up to arrive. I do not think they will this time, and unless they find someone else to work for three or four days a week, for a few hours at a time, it looks like we are in deep doodoos. If things are undeliverable they will be returned as such and I will not be reimbursed. I am not bothered about the money - what is worrying me is that the orders from iHerb are the supplements and vitamins that Pereg needs and which are not available in Israel. I always keep a good supply - have enough for a couple of months but missed out on one supplement so ordered it on Sunday - and was only told yesterday about Meri boogering off. Do not know what I am going to do now. Tbh I have been crying almost non-stop because Pereg needs these things.
I do hope Pereg's supplements arrive before Meri stops delivering parcels. Do you think it would it be possible for the macolet to take delivery of parcels for you, if the worst happens? Otherwise, could your lovely vet help by ordering these supplements for you? Please forgive me if these are ideas that you have already pursued, but there just has to be a way round the problem.
Oh Malka, there's me complaining about something unimportant like a DVD and you've got all those worries about deliveries. I really hope they can get someone to replace Meri - whoever they get must be better than her I'd have thought. Carole's suggestions sound good - I do hope they're feasible.
It had already been arranged that the macolet would take in parcels for me, signing for them if necessary, but if the orders do not arrive before Meri stomps off, then nothing will be delivered to the Moshav. Yes, I could get things delivered to Ram but then I will have to pay for a taxi to collect them, and things like those from China could turn up daily. I do not care about them though - they were things I had ordered for other people and I will write off the money. But it is the thought of not being able to get the regular parcels from iHerb that is worrying me. This last order definitely will not be here before 31 December. I think my best bet is to re-order and get it sent to Ram, and then have to get one of my taxi drivers to pick it up, and if Ram agrees get future orders sent to him. I am just rather upset - and another of my friends from the Epi List had to say goodbye to her beloved epi this morning as she went to The Bridge, so another heart-breaking condolence email to be written and sent. Run free beautiful Áine, run free as fast as you can xx
