I quite like mine! "Dulcie" bred by a farrier friend of mine from more parsons type russells, straight long leads, broad heads etc, he's had the same working lines for years and she's the only prick eared one ever-typical. She's a typical gobby russell, fight with her own shadow if she could and quite reactive, but as trustworthy and loyal as they come albeit slightly dim at times! She's not very photogenic either, not hugely a fan of the camera! And as russell pups are the cutest.. And I haven't looked at any photos containing the rocket since he was pts so this is a bit difficult, but seeing the expression on "Dulcie" makes you realise she was always going to be trouble.
And not forgetting the original Russell, she gave rick stein's chalky a run for his money on being an untolerant swine She was a rescue from a horrible background, the vet always believed she was considerably older than what we were told at the RSPCA due to the state of her teeth, the greying around the muzzle and temples within X amount of years, and the manner of her demise were illness' that you would all synopsise with an older dog's body just giving up. Not that it's important of course, we had her for good years and she's the dog whom all others must measure up too. And if I could have her all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. She was a fantastic companion, and a great introduction to working terriers as was as honest as they come and loved nothing more than being out ferretting, she was fantastic, not a chocolate box dog but I always felt her essential tenacity, toughness and sheer survivor style always shone through.
She's very unusual looking, is she all JRT or a cross? Looks quite corgi as opposed to terrier in some, very sweet though!
terriers really are growing on me... i didnt like them to look at, wasnt a dog id ever thought id own.. being around them alot has changed that though now im working out when i can add a terror to my life
