I live in Keflavík, Iceland. I like most things about it but I dislike how behind Iceland is when it comes to dogs. They are banned most everywhere and it makes it really hard to socilize a puppy well. And the weather could be a tad more predictable :p

I live in Essex, mostly I enjoy living here. I dislike the stereotype Essex has we are not all thick, orange and wearing white stillhettos :005:

I live in a little town in Lincolnshire, half way between Lincoln and Skegness.

I love living here - people seem very relaxed and friendly.

Only thing I dislike - I wish we had a station. (There was once - I live in part of what was the Station Hotel!). I would really like to live somewhere with a direct train link to London. I probably wouldn't ever go, but for some reason I want to feel that I can if I want to!

I live on a small agricultural Moshav in the NW Negev in Israel and have been here for about 18½ years - before that I lived in town, which is just 15-20 minutes away by car or taxi but seems to be in a different world somehow.

What I like is the peace and quiet here, especially on the Sabbath and Holy Days as no vehicles are permitted to come onto the Moshav - except for emergency ones of course - and the feeling that I am a family member to just about everyone.

What I do not like is the fact that the majority of dog owners let their dogs run loose, very few and none that I know of actually have the dog living in the house. Plus the fact that when people in town get fed up with their dog [puppy lost its cute factor or the kids are bored with it etc] they drive the dog here and dump it.

Would I ever go back to living in town? Never! :)

I'm a south Londoner who lives on the east London/Essex border, migrated about 20 years ago and have lived in my current house for 16 years. I really like where I live, it has a small town/ village feel with all the amenities of a big town/city close at hand. Officially where I live is London but the locals all claim to live in Essex. Anyway I really like it, I like the people, I like the area and I really like the dog walking areas I have close by. Essex is much greener than people think generally and if I move from here in my dotage it will probably be further into Essex or possibly Suffolk.

Love where I live in a little picturesque village down bottom of Cornwall, Shops are 10min walk and the beach is on my doorstep, where we are is very quiet but there is always lots going in the village, and it does get ‘hectic’ in summer.

The only things I dislike is that its very hilly, does my legs in! and we are so far away from my closest friends.

I live in a small village in deepest, darkest Hungary. I love living here because although its quiet and peaceful, life is never dull. The only thing I don't like is that because none of the village dogs are kept as pets its difficult for Georgie to make doggy friends.

This is the view from my front gate taken in winter.

I live in a fairly quiet, small village, in South Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire border. I love the fact I live directly behind a nice dog walk that leads up to the village woods. Plenty of quiet, private, public footpaths within short driving distance too. What I hate about where I'm situated is I have no private garden. Only a communal one.

I live in Lewisham, I like that fact that I am right near London and it is pretty easy to get transport to places
Dislike that it is apparently has the highest murder statistics and there is so much gun/knife crime and that it is full of chavs
    lol

I live in a small town in South Wales, about 20 minutes from Cardiff :D

I love it here, especially the people - everyone's so down to earth. You go for a walk and everyone says hello - if people you have never met before. I used to think it's because I had a big dog - and they were scared of the dog - but no, they are just the same without.

I dislike having a river at the end of the garden, and being fairly close to some mountains - we get less sunshine here and it makes it a bit of a damp environment. It's the only reason I want to move.

Just as an afterthought - I moved into this bungalow in November 2000 having lived on the Moshav for five years - two in one half bungalow and three in another half bungalow. This is a full, totally detached one. Not that big but big enough that eight children were brought up in it when it was first built - all of two rooms with no electricity, no running water, just an outbuilding with a cold water tap and a primus stove. Slightly larger now though with all mod cons, albeit still a rather ancient building!

I was not far short of being 58 at the time and had lived in many different houses/apartments/towns before then, including the house I was born and brought up in, my first marital home etc - and I can honestly say that this is the first place that has ever felt like Home, with a capital "H". It is my home. Even more so than the lovely apartment I bought in town which was just five minutes walk from a glorious beach.

As my late landlord, my beloved friend and neighbour David z"l always said, it might be his house but it is my home. His daughter, who is now my landlady, although actually all the family own this bungalow together with hers next door and the whole plot of land, say the same.

And I feel it. This is my Home and this is where I will, hopefully, live out the rest of my days. And I am happy here, in spite of some of the problems.

For the last 30 years I have lived in a small hamlet between the River Severn and the Malvern Hills. It is a beautiful spot and a place where I feel safe :).

Nobody will understand this, but it is a letter written by and given to me by my beloved David z"l about six months before he died, copies of which he gave to all his family.

Basically it is a contract for life for this bungalow stating that this is my home and will be for life. And no, I actually cannot read it - well I mostly can but do not understand it all but it was translated for me, and no, it is actually not legal, but all the family will always respect his wishes.

So for them, legal or not, it is and will be as he wanted.

And that piece of paper is worth its weight in gold.

David my friend - who always called me his sister - I miss you so much.

He was my landlord, my neighbour, my beloved friend, and my "brother". My rent has not changed since I moved in here, and it will never be increased according to his wishes. He always said that I could do whatever I wanted to the bungalow, apart from knocking it down, of course, and because of that and my low rent [£185/month] I have so far had three of the large windows replaced, frames, screens, the lot - plus had an ensuite built, involving a ruddy great hole knocked in my bedroom wall!

And the front door and frame replaced so it opens outwards instead of inwards...

...in other words, I can treat this bungalow as if I actually owned it, because to all intents and purposes it is mine for as long as I live. As we say, "Ad me'ir v'esrim" - "until one hundred and twenty".

It is a warm and comforting feeling.

In an absolute unspoilt rural paradise in Andalucía. Basically a green mountain range perfect for the mutts and me...Relaxed, negligible stress, lakes, rivers, awesome regional food and booze...

I have to be honest and say that the Mediterranean way of communicating (never listening, just talking/shouting over the top of the other person, usually about themselves lol) is a bit too much for me these days.
