What am I?! Guess before the DNA results are in!

I adopted this little guy three weeks ago from a rescue. He was listed as... well... it depends which piece of paper you looked at. One said he was a shepherd/husky/chow chow mix, another that he was an aussie/chow chow mix and the last that he was a shepherd/labrador mix.

Either way I decided to do the Wisdom Panel Insight DNA test, as well as the BioPet DNA test. I know what opinion many people have of these tests, specifically that they are not entirely reliable. But, many have been pleased with the results and I'm curious.

With that said the results should be in from the Wisdom Panel within a few days, the BioPet should take another week or two. I will update this post once they are in. In the mean time I'll show you pictures and let the guesses begin.

In this first picture he was 11 weeks and 9.8 pounds. Right after I got him from the rescue. The shaved legs are due to him contracting parvo while at the rescue. He's currently fine. Now he's 13 weeks and 16.8 pounds.

And just for fun, this is a photo of one of his liter-mates, who has quite a different coat.

    Here's another liter-mate of his.

    Gorgeous little pups.

You're little fella looks like he has Aussie Shepherd in to me the second one looks a bit like he has lab in and the 3rd little one looks more Aussie Shepherd too.

Whatever they are they look adorable and so cuddly.

    Both look very sweet dogs.

Looking at your little one Id guess and say aussie/chow cross. The short coat on the other little guy makes me wonder though.

    Enjoy him!

Is that brindling, or merling though? Merling restricts it to Aussie/BC etc. but brindle opens up a lot of other possibilities.

Here's another view of the last liter-mate I posted, so you can see the coloring a little better.

Def. Merle Your pup is merle as well. and I think I may see a little in the shorthaired pup as well. GORGEOUS!

Hard to tell at this age though... easier to guess when they're getting clost to full grown :)

Aussie x something or other, may have more than one breed in him though!

I did the Wisdom Panel Insights test on my crossbreed, worse than useless so I hope you didn't waste too much money on it! No idea about the other test.

Be interesting to hear the results!

ETAL: Though when mine was done he said the same breeds over here and in America have different DNA codes! Surely if it's the same breed....? Who knows!
