Welcome to all dog breeders and owners!

    Hi Forumers,

Lazhar here from London and passionate about dogs and even more (responsible!!) dog breeding, I find breeders amazing in the way they devote their life to improve a breed and offer so much love to their dogs.

For that precise reason, I founded *************, a platform offering resources, interviews and a lot of articles about the dog breeding business, the industry, the dogs themselves and anything that can help breeders grow and work more efficiently!

I did read already amazing threads here and I hope to read some more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    L

Welcome Lazhar, what kind of dogs do you have? Do you have any pictures of them?
I must say I find it hard to reconcile ideas about the responsible breeding of dogs with the terms, business, industry, and working more efficiently. I am glad that you have enjoyed reading some of our posts, we have quite wide ranging doggy interests on here, but I don't think you will have found any hint of commercial activity.

Hello Carole, I've got one border collie, I do not breed dogs myself although I'd have loved to. London is not the ideal breeding space!

Dog breeding as soon as you do it and sell puppies can be qualified as a business. And like ANY BUSINESS, it can be done with no love, empathy and care or, it can be done with attention to details and a lot of love given to your own dogs and puppies. A business never meant dropping respect and quality to increase margins, this is the capitalistic (and modern) version of it.

Hope I worded it intelligibly enough :)

    Best,

    Lazhar

I can see that we are going to have to agree to disagree. I have had a quick look at your website, and was quite concerned by certain of the phrases you use such as, 'marketing strategies', 'smart branding moves', and 'building a thriving and profitable business'. I am sure that you do actually love dogs, and this is only my personal opinion, but I feel that this kind of business jargon is only appropriate for the sale of kennel equipment, or the publicity for a service, such as a boarding kennel.

For the actual breeding of dogs financial reward should never be a motivating factor, and to describe it in the terms you have used, can only appeal to the
irresponsible breeders who are motivated to try to make money out of their dogs. There are already far too many commercial and backyard breeders in operation, an overproduction which in turn leads to thousands of young dogs languishing in rescue centres. Please don't encourage people to try to build a, 'thriving and profitable business' out of their dogs - if anything, we need far fewer dogs to be bred.

There are those that do it for the money and there are those that do it to further the breed. One sells there pups for a profit the other sells there pups to cover the costs.

Please note advertising is not allowed, and I think the last thing we need is a site dedicated to the 'business' of breeding.

Anyone interested in breeding should read this first:

Thinking about breeding? Think about this...

Anyone looking for ethical breeders should look at ethical sites like Breedia - our own breeder's directory will be going live soon ;)
