Hi, I love gundogs! I used to have a beautiful lab called Woody and two adorable Cockers called Sammy and Lola! I now have two GORGEOUS Mini Schnauzers called Pippa and Henry, who are both little delights! I am thinking about rescuing a lab. Would anyone have any good rescue places in the U.K?
Oh boy, take your pick!Wood Green aren't too far from you,Battersea is in London, there's always breed rescue(the Kennel Club can put you in touch with one near you) Registered pedigree puppies are being advertised here 'free to good homes' in our free ads papers and the pounds are full of surrendered labs.I'd imagine there's a good few of them in the UK too.
It's true, labs are a victim of their own popularity. Any decent sized rescue center will have at least a couple, not least because they can be sods at the teenage stage and as soon as people begin to realise their dog is no longer an andrex puppy, the poor dog is off to the rescue center. Take your pick! And I wish you all the best in choosing your new lab
http://www.loveyourlabrador.co.uk/ http://www.labrador-rescue.org.uk/ http://www.labrador-rescue.co.uk/ This is just a small selection of the breed specific rescue organisation for labs. I always recommend that people who want a specific breed approach the breed rescues first as they have specialist knowledge and will vet homes and dogs so that the chances of failure are minimised. (We all want to avoid the Bull Terrier being rehomed with a Chihuahua situation)!
