...and a small 'orrid mini-monster is wearing mud boots which, of course, she has kindly tracked all over the carpet and onto my once beautiful brown couch. Bits of mud fall off her feet as she crosses the carpet which, being various shades of brown, are not so noticeable and will easily sweep off, but my poor not-very-old velvety-type covered couch has definite mud paw prints. Well, the small 'orrid mini-monster pulled the beautiful plush mushroom-coloured throw down and made it into a nest and of course she is now curled up on the nekkid couch. After the heavy rains we had the weather has been glorious and everything was nice and dry. But then on Monday and yesterday we had unexpected heavy rain - only for a short while but enough to soak into the earth/dirt slope in the front although it seemed dry on top, and yesterday afternoon IT discovered digging. How do you stop a small 'orrid mini-monster from digging? The hole, incidentally, is not only big but deep. Any deeper and she will be in Australia!
Oh that's so funny But look on bright side at least the little beautiful loving cute monster won't need her claws from being cut, as the digging will keep them short
Her claws are short enough now as she is outside most of the day now. Michal trimmed her front ones when she came for the Parkworm shot and regular worm pill [Drontal Plus]. The back ones were fine due to the small 'orrid mini-monster doing her Meerkat impression and dancing around on her hind legs. Just so that she can see a bit further. That was the second Parkworm shot - unfortunately it has to be given every three months for life, but as the small 'orrid mini-monster will be 11 months old on Friday she will not need another Drontal until her yearly booster, which coincides with the next Parkworm shot. Then four weeks after that her rabies shot will be due. The problem with the digging is that her paws get caked, both under her claws and between her toes, but as she gallops about bits fall off everywhere and are easy to just sweep off the carpet and out the door. Anyhow I went outside this afternoon to see how her hole was doing, and she must have been having a short break as she was sitting in it so all I could see was her top half!
That beautiful lovable likable little monster is helping to find Moles & other burrowing animals, as half the breed in her is a hunting dog
Bless her little cotton socks . Might be worth giving the drontal a week before or a week after her boosters so that she doesn't get a chemical overload having them all together
@Chris B - Ram always gave Pereg the Drontal Plus at the same time as her boosters and do not forget that she was also on a very high dose of Phenobarbitone as well. She did not have the Parkworm shot as Parkworm had not reached this area. As it all goes by weight, obviously the small 'orrid mini-monster at 5.5kg will not get the same amount that Pereg had as it is all proportional, but she is a healthy little horror and if Ram thought it was OK for Pereg to have them together - he also drew blood at the same time - I will go with Michal's decision for the small 'orrid mini-monster. If Michal has any queries she will check with Ram but now Drontal will be a six-monthly thing so it will only be once a year that will coincide with her boosters. It is the Parkworm shot that is the booger, being needed every three months, and so far that coincided with the Drontal as they now worm puppies every three months after the initial monthly [I forget now] doses, until they are a year old. I am not sure if it is Drontal or an equivalent now, as Michal has been giving it to "thing" [who is in disgrace at the moment] in capsule form whereas Drontal is in tablet form. Oh yes, the hole. It now looks like a ready dug "thing" shape grave as she has decided she did not like it round, but as the earth is now dry her paws do not look so caked - yet - however she has only been out since she had her breakfast at 10am [it is now 11.14am] so there is time yet!
