The Kray Brothers are 7 months old Dalmatian x Labrador puppies, [Owners surname is Kray so they named the puppies Reggie & Ronnie Kray] the owners brought the pups from a BYB & only bought them because of their designer name Dalmador unfortunately they didn't know what 2 X breeds the dogs where, so therefore didn't do any research into either breeds before buying the brothers. The Kray brothers are strong willed & are very boisterous pups, which is why their owners bought them to our open day drop in training day, both dogs were jumping up instead of walking & they would mouth at their owners hands to get them to let go of the lead, all the while when being walked around the training pen. Even Harry our head trainer had problems trying to walk the Kray brothers so we decided to take them into the smaller indoor exercise area so we could let them off their leads & could have a run about in the hope they would wear themselves out & be more easier to train, but one of the big horrors knocked me over & ran off with my stick. Karen our second head trainer came in with 2 Dogmatic Headcollars, the Kray brothers hated it when the Headcollars were put on them & the noise they were making anyone passing by would of thought they were being killed, I got my stick back & took control once again of the 2 boisterous puppies & within minutes the puppies were walking without jumping up & mouthing [they soon realized that me & their owners were now in charge not them] I do wish people that are going to buy or adopt a dog do their research first on the breed & not just go & buy or adopt a dog because of its fancy sounding name. We use Dogmatic Headcollars because they are padded & don't ride up towards the eyes like some of the halti's do
Frequently people buy puppies because of their "designer" name. And then they expect experts to train them. I have a cross-breed - I could call her a DoxPin - sounds special? But she is mini monster, but she is my problem and no way would I expect anyone else to train her. She is my girl and even though it is taking a long time, we will slowly get there.
